Sarah Palin is coming to town

(CNN) - Do you hear what I hear? Sarah Palin already has Christmas on her mind.

In the upcoming title, "A Happy Holiday IS a Merry Christmas," the former Alaska governor argues the holiday has become too secular because of "the politically correct elite who have hijacked the season," according to a release from the book's publisher, HarperCollins.

Scheduled for a November release, her new book will be out in time for purchase by all holiday shoppers, naughty or nice.

Her book, the publisher states, will make the argument for a more traditional Christmas that emphasizes the Christian theme behind the holiday. Palin will highlight "the importance of preserving Jesus Christ in Christmas," whether that's in public displays, school concerts or pageants. The book will also include personal memories and traditions from the most wonderful time of the year.

The 2008 vice presidential nominee has been known to defend her stance on Christmas in the past. In 2011, Palin blasted President Obama's Christmas card as "odd" on Fox News because it featured the family's dog, Bo, sitting by a fire, rather than prominently displaying values of "family, faith and freedom."

In a statement, Palin said her new book will be a "fun, festive, thought provoking" piece that will encourage readers to "unite in defense of our faith and ignore the politically correct Scrooges who would rather take Christ out of Christmas."

The book follows her two other books, "Going Rogue" (2009) and "America by Heart" (2010).

Wow, and she's timing it right before the HOLIDAY season. What a Christian she is! I'm sure Jesus would love that she's profiting off of his birth and message. How much of the proceeds are going to charity???

I think that many people like Palin don't see that there are people who are not Christian in the country. Why should we non-Christians be forced to be included in Christian events and holidays that we don't agree with because it isn't our religion?

i'd like to point out that the card this year gave to opportunity for an incredible artist to show her work before i say something about taking Christ out of Christmas. The holildays are what you make them and Americans should have that choice. This is such a ridiculous conversation–no one is telling anyone not to celebrate Christmas. And I don't like being told that there is only palin's way to celebrate if i am to be a true country loving patriot. CNN should really stop covering anything regarding this woman. This vapid rhetoric is exactly what this country does NOT need!

If only Jesus were actually born at Christmas, that would be cool. But the reason for the season is not Jesus, it is the changing of the season. It is Dec. 21st when we call back the light. THIS is the tradition that Christians have tried to steal from the world.

The "HOLY"day was hijacked a long time ago. Who came up with idea of some fat guy flying around in a chariot with reindeers delivering gifts?

If someone is having problems putting Jesus into Christmas it is not someone else fault, it is their own. Stop blaming others.

So America's most well known QUITTER is coming out with another tome of vapid observations. This one sounds like the PERFECT definition of a "coffee table" book – something best used to put under a leg to keep the table from wobbling. CNN, PLEASE stop wasting our time. This story is so far from relevant to anything as to be laughable.

Remember, it IS a federal holiday. She's simply telling people that it became corrupted by capitalism. I don't think anyone can argue that, but oh I'm so sure they will try because it's Sarah Palin. If Christmas is no big deal to you, then just try not buying your kids any gifts and see how far it gets you.

If a liberal made the observation that Christmas has been corrupted by Capitalism ( an observation that caused Dickens to write " A Christmas Carol"), the Right would be screaming bloody murder about it. Palin is simply the latest in a long line of Rightie doomsayers who claim our traditions are under attack, yet she is timing the release of her book right around Black Friday. Coincidence? Nope. She knows how to fleece the flock.

You could not be more wrong. Sarah Palin would never criticize capitalism. In fact, Palin is hypocritically blaming politicians for having "hijacked the season". She would be correct to blame capitalism, but she's incorrectly blaming politicians. Ironically, she's blaming the "anti-business" liberals for hijacking the holiday season.

The Kim Kardashian of American politics, Jabberwocky Barbie, has decided to continue duping the angry Teavengelical crowd into giving her their money by perpetuating the baseless, ridiculous and manufactured-for-political-purposes meme of "America persecutes Christians." Ever willing to be told what they want to hear and have their fears confirmed by someone with zero credibility, the Teavangelicals are already reaching for their wallets/purses.

And what about the millions of Americans who celebrate Hanukkah, not Christmas? Or regard Christmas solely as a time to get together with family? Or celebrate the winter solstice? Or (if it's in December) Ramadan or Diwali? What are *they* supposed to do during this supposedly joyous time, pretend to be Christians to shut up Palin and her lil' buddy Bill O'Reilly?

I also have to agree with everyone who pointed out that gee, for someone who decries the secularization of Christmas, Palin and her ghostwriter (who will actually write the book since Palin's English skills are, to put it mildly, weak) sure are timing it to take advantage of the un-Christian orgy of capitalism known as Black Friday.
