Rubio isn't down with J.T.

(CNN) – The public is gaining a clearer picture of Sen. Marco Rubio's preferred music tastes: He's in with Tupac, Eminem, Kanye West, Jay-Z and Big Sean.

But the junior senator said Tuesday he doesn't share the same love for pop star Justin Timberlake, who's releasing his widely-anticipated comeback album "The 20/20 Experience."

"Listen, he's a talented performer, but he's not a-, he's not on my iPod list," Rubio said on CNN's "The Lead with Jake Tapper."

Even though Jay-Z appears on the album with the former 'N Sync star, the senator said he wasn't too eager to listen to Timberlake.

"No - no - you know, nothing against him. You know, he's very popular. He's just not one of the guys I listen to," he said.

"Not hardcore enough for Senator Rubio," Tapper said.

"Justin Timberlake?" Rubio asked, chuckling. "No."

Rubio, who's considered a potential 2016 presidential candidate, made headlines late last year when he said hip hop artist, Pitbull, could not compare to some of his other favorite artists, like Eminem. His comments quickly drew criticism, as the musician hails from Rubio's hometown of Miami. Rubio later clarified his statements on Twitter, saying he has "much respect" for Pitbull but his music is mostly "party music." Pitbull appeared on Rubio's Spotify list when it was released a few months later.

Maybe we'll see "SexyBack" on the senator's iPod one day, but as of now, it looks doubtful.

I agree with ja, but it still won't get him the votes. He needs to quit faking. I bet he won't let the rest of the old republicans listen to it because he would be to scared of the backlash. Just pathetic. Talk about a chameleon. LOL!!!!!!!!

Man, you have to give it to CNN - they really will go all out to elect their candidates. They don't like Republicans. Rubio is considered a rising star in the Republican Party who may have appeal to younger voters. So they run a whole story about how a musician who is popular with younger listeners isn't on the competing candidate's iPod? And they label it "Senator rips on J.T." (on the home page), when all the "article" says is it isn't on his iPod?

When was the last time you saw a similar article about a Democrat? I wonder if Taylor Swift is on Sen. Elizabeth Warren's iPod? If Beyonce is on Harry Reid's?
