Rubio isn't down with J.T.

(CNN) - The public is gaining a clearer picture of Sen. Marco Rubio's preferred music tastes: He's in with Tupac, Eminem, Kanye West, Jay-Z and Big Sean.

But the junior senator said Tuesday he doesn't share the same love for pop star Justin Timberlake, who's releasing his widely-anticipated comeback album "The 20/20 Experience."

"Listen, he's a talented performer, but he's not a-, he's not on my iPod list," Rubio said on CNN's "The Lead with Jake Tapper."

Even though Jay-Z appears on the album with the former 'N Sync star, the senator said he wasn't too eager to listen to Timberlake.

"No - no - you know, nothing against him. You know, he's very popular. He's just not one of the guys I listen to," he said.

"Not hardcore enough for Senator Rubio," Tapper said.

"Justin Timberlake?" Rubio asked, chuckling. "No."

Rubio, who's considered a potential 2016 presidential candidate, made headlines late last year when he said hip hop artist, Pitbull, could not compare to some of his other favorite artists, like Eminem. His comments quickly drew criticism, as the musician hails from Rubio's hometown of Miami. Rubio later clarified his statements on Twitter, saying he has "much respect" for Pitbull but his music is mostly "party music." Pitbull appeared on Rubio's Spotify list when it was released a few months later.

Maybe we'll see "SexyBack" on the senator's iPod one day, but as of now, it looks doubtful.

Yet another poseur wannabe? Totally style over substance. Then we have Rand wannabe.
Deja vu all over again. (Thinking of their last primary season fiasco.)

I'm sorry to admit he represents my home state. Marco - you are as out of touch with music as much as you are with solutions to todays problems.

And I'm not "down with" Rubio. This guy has a lot of growing up to do, and the White House is not the place to
    start. Next.

Marco, please give it up-you aren't Presidential material even though your playlist is similar to Chairman Obamas. I'd like you to print out the lyrics of all your IPOD favorites, read them out loud, then immediately talk about the evangelical church you attend.

You are such a fake and a pander who can be spotted a mile away.

Go away. And take Chris Christy with you.

Not hip, just a dip. Is this the 'New' Republicanism? What, now they only like hard-core rap music? Give me a break! Considering his perception of life in America, Rubio is so far from 'cool' that he's right at home in Florida's heat and humidity.

I don't see anything wrong with that he is that age were rap was popular, you might disagree with his policies but his hip hop taste are pretty good. Also he should have never backed down, pit bull is nothing compared to Eminem.

who cares-who is he anyways???? EVERYONE knows who JT is. He is multi-talented and is very altruistic. These other dudes only care about themselves first, then they might build a park or something like that. I like some the their music, Eminem specifically but the others just want to rub it in people's faces that they are rich. Who cares, it is what YOU DO with that money that counts. Sounds like Rubio thinks along those same lines-he is a republican afterall.

I don't usually read the comments at the end of CNN reports because they're usually contrary, no matter what your thought is, but in this case, I happened to read them and agree with all.

If you believe a square like Rubio listens to ANY of that music that he listed, I've got a bridge to sell you. He's trying to put on a "hip" image in an attempt to appeal to younger voters.

And why does this matter? If Rubio listens to gansta rap, does that mean that he is endorsing what they are talking about? It doesn't seem like it.
