NRA sues over New York gun control

(CNN) - The National Rifle Association's New York state affiliate filed a federal lawsuit Thursday in Buffalo contesting the constitutionality of the SAFE Act, the sweeping gun-control bill Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed into law in January, the group announced in a press release.

The new laws fortify New York's existing assault weapons ban, limit the number of bullets allowed in ammunition magazines and strengthen rules that govern the mentally ill, which includes a requirement to report potentially harmful behavior.

The NRA is a Cancer on our society; I turned my membership card in years ago!

The governor's legiaslation was inspired by a need to protect safety. Does the NRA oppose safety when it conflicts with their attacks against sensible gun controls?

The governor's legislation was inspired by the need to protect public safety. Does the NRA oppose public safety when it conflicts with their attacks against sensible gun controls?

Somebody should sue the NRA for not having " Firearms Have Been Proven To Cause Death By The Surgeon General " , on the barrel .

The NRA reminds me of the tobaco industry in the 60s.

All these nra fools show is that 4 million loudmouths can win the shouting battles.
There are plenty of others in the country against the nra and everything bad they represent. If the repugs couldn't buy an election they can't buy our safety.
Backgtround checking is a must. In the county where I live in MD the police paid $100 per gun. They were able to take 631 guns off the streets (these included handguns, rifles, shotguns , BB guns and even ammunition). BTW, it's not that people in my county need the money either!
