Twitter co-founder, mayor of NYC?

(CNN) - Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey is based in San Francisco, but has said being mayor of New York City would be his dream job,

The "desire to be mayor is more of an aspirational kind, or raising the bar of how I should be thinking," Dorsey said on CNN's "The Lead with Jake Tapper."

I respect Mr. Dorsey's high ambitions, but he has to have some pretty thick skin if he wants to be mayor. My ideal man for the job was Weiner, but he screwed that up. I still think he can redeem himself and make a political comeback.

I don't think this young man has any idae of what is involved in being mayor of NYC. If he's serious about it, then he'd better have some deep roots and connections with people in the 5 boroughs. It's all about managing the people, and not just a pile of money and a product being sold. Unlike a private corporation where you as CEO can order people around, a mayor cannot.

It's bad enough that employers now pre-screen job applicants based on how many social networks they use. Someone like Dorsey would probably require one for every NYC citizen, and stick up for the networks and their intrusive data-harvesting "like" and "follow" buttons, which would be a terrible thing indeed.

I hope not, but given his deep connections to Twitter (which is just a horribly dumbed-down marketer-friendly blog service anyway), avoid voting for him like the plague.

He should run for Senator in AZ to replace McCain. McCain inflicted the single most annoying VP candidate on the country and this Dorsey twit inflicted the single most annoying "social networking" fad on the country. He'll fit right into the McCain's legacy.
