Video: Rep. King says Obama 'should play favorites' in Mideast talks

(CNN) - Speaking after President Barack Obama's news conference with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Rep. Peter King, R-New York, said the United States should favor Israelis when it comes to brokering peace in the region.

"I think to some extent, we should play favorites," King said on CNN's "Starting Point." "I mean there is not an equivalency between Israelis and Palestinians. Israel is our closest ally in the Middle East. It is the only democracy in the Middle East. We obviously want to work with the Palestinians and want to bring about peace. But I don’t see either a moral or diplomatic equivalency between the two."

King also said the president's trip to Israel had so far been a success.

And King is the reason we believe the GOP can no longer play in the international field. Really? Just what is anyone's motivation to work with the United States when we offer negotiations between two parties (whether they be Palestinians and Israelis, or Catholics and Protestants in Ireland)? We play favorites, we have zero credibility.
But hey, King is yet another delusional Republican.

Play favorites? Great way to negotiate... No wonder Bush was such a foreign policy disaster!

Even a bad card-player can tell you that you don't hold up your cards for everyone to inspect before betting.

This is why community organizer is just what we need as a president and world leader. Someone who know how to get people talking. Not a politician who's mind set is take care of your friends and who cares about the other side. Its my way or nothing else.

Good job....continue to undermine the President's trip by parroting the GOP talking points. What's next....telling him to declare Jerusalem as the capital or maybe he should authorize the release of that traitor Pollard?

Playing favorites while trying to get two sides to the table would be a stupid move... what is with the GOP and their love for Israel? Or is it the GOP is just plain stupid... Mr. King is for sure!

King is correct because there is rule of law in Israel; a court system that works as well as ours. If the Arabs and Muslims (all of them) were really interested in peace, then there would be more focus on development of roads and farms rather than bombs and their military (or terrorists). I long for the day when the peaceful majority of get the idea of peaceful coexistance to their rulers so that can be done.

"Lynda, it really sounds like you may have a deeply personal issue against her. Raising needy kids, successfully running a business, employing people and working hard as an elected official with a willingness to speak out "

This reprobate Bachmann has not had one piece of legislation passed into law since she came to Congress – six years and counting. She has not worked hard except to flap her uninformed mouth and ridicule the president. And the successful business you cite has benefited from untold Federal money to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Of course, she will not talk about that. And what about "pray awaty the gay". I hope the people of her district finally wake up and throw this loser out.
