(CNN) – The Ready for Hillary super PAC is getting some high-profile help.
James Carville, the Democratic strategist who has close ties to Bill and Hillary Clinton, sent an email to the group's distribution list saying he supports the PAC and wants people to get on board.
The note from Carville wasn’t a fundraising missive. Carville won't officially be joining Ready for Hillary, a source close to the group said.
“There hasn't been a presidential election in my lifetime when Democrats have been as united behind a potential candidate as we are today. The enthusiasm and hunger for a Hillary Clinton Presidency is unlike anything I've ever seen,” Carville wrote in his email, urging supporters to register their names and email addresses with the super PAC.
“We owe it to Hillary to start putting the building blocks of her campaign together now. The modern political campaign demands it,” he wrote.
Carville's email comes days after the group hired Matt Felan to serve as finance director. Felan acted as the deputy national finance director on Clinton's 2008 presidential bid.
On Tuesday, the Ready for Hillary super PAC organized a rally outside the Kennedy Center, where Clinton was delivering her first remarks since stepping down as secretary of state in February. More than a hundred supporters waved signed as people arrived for the Vital Voices event.
Carville managed Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign, and acted as an adviser to Hillary Clinton's 2008 bid.
The Washington Post first reported the news of Carville's email for the Ready for Hillary PAC.
