Obama likes the look of California's attorney general

(CNN) – The crowds are apparently getting better looking at President Barack Obama's California fundraisers.

Singling out the Golden State's Attorney General Kamala Harris at a Democratic National Committee event in Atherton, Obama noted, "She's brilliant and she's dedicated, she's tough… She also happens to be, by far, the best looking attorney general."

"It's true! C'mon," he continued, according to a pool report. Harris is considered a rising star within the Democratic Party.

Obama is in the Bay Area on a fundraising swing for fellow Democrats. He attended two events for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee on Wednesday night which raked in $3.25 million for the organization.

While no one argued with Obama about Harris' status as the "best looking attorney general" Thursday, a colleague back home might take issue: Vice President Joe Biden's son Beau is Delaware's attorney general, and his name means "beautiful" in French.

On social media, reaction was mixed - some though Obama's remarks were inappropriate, particularly for the commander-in-chief.

But others simply though Obama was offering a compliment - and the truth.

Was Obama being inappropriate in his remark? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.

Maybe he can replace the current slimy and guilty US AG Eric Holder with her. (Please look up, "Operation Fast and Furious").

I suppose the President forgot the lovely Attorney General from Florida, Pam Bondi, or the lovely Attorney General from Pennsylvania Kathleen Kane. By the way, AG Kane is also a Democrat.

With the highst poverty rate and lowest employment participation rate in 30 years, the President spent four days speaking to billionaire 0.0001%'ers asking for their money.....

.....and the only "news" is he called a woman good looking.

    Well played "Media". Well played.

With all the uber sensitivity in today's culture, it was a dumb comment. It is also totally subjective. If the AG was a man, would he have commented on his looks? If he didn't find her attractive, would he have said she's the ugliest attorney general? It was inappropriate. However, in the end, there are much bigger things to worry about these days than a sexist remark.

So, basically the president grades you better if you're pretty... wow, Mr.President, way to show your sexest side. Everyone has one, but being the president and being a married man, I think he was completely out of line saying that publicly. I expect better from someone who is supposed to be a political role model.

If an individual in the military made a comment like that, they would be written up, reduced in rank and thrown to the wolves.

"She also happens to be, by far, the best looking attorney general." a most distasteful and sexist comment. Extremely inappropriate for a President.

It's really great to see the Obama lovers out here justifying his comments. Duplicity at it's best. And you wonder why we don't take the libs seriously.

If the AG were a Male or Bi-sexual, they would all love it. And the blob that says she is the NOW representative for California is uglier than Janet Reno. As for the beauty of the AG, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Fox anchors are much prettier and more intelligent than either Michelle or this AG.

Oh Please!..lol....He gave her a compliment and said she was the best looking A.G. Big whoop ti do...I'm guessing none of you has actually received a compliment outside of your own family...get over it..more important things are going on and THIS is what people choose to be offended by? All this "out of line" and "setting us back", just really ridiculous.

So many of you blow things far out of proportion. She's pretty, and he simply pointed it out. It's not as if he is made her the VP candidate based on her popularity or anything.

After all, our president is human just like you and I, and he's entitled to his opinions just as we are.

Why can't he give his beautiful lady a compliment? He is the best looking president that we have ever had! How about that? Just because a person is good-looking does not take away from their accomplishments. Kamala Harris for President!

if he had commented that Biden was wearing an awesome suit, would that be offensive to Holder who might have been wearing a less attractive suit? why are you offended people ignoring his other compliments about her? why would the "best looking" comment overshadow the other comments? could it be because you yourself choose to focus on that?

I'm not going to disagree with any of the aforementioned comments. But for heaven's sake, it was a joke. Lighten up.

Inappropriate comment by the President but also inappropriate comment by YOU if you think that the reverse situation has never happened on the right.

This is why we don't take team fanboys seriously.

Hey, be real. When women quit spending millions to enhance their looks, the rest of society will quit commenting on them. Sounds really stupid to say it's insulting to call a woman good looking after she spent several hundred dollars to get that effect.

I can't stand Obama and truly think he's destroying the country but stand by him on this one. The PC BS in the country has gotten out of control. You can't say anything in public anymore without offending someone. So he complimented a woman he finds attractive. Get over it. If you're offended, be offended quietly and get a life.
