RNC chair suggests Democrats support infanticide through Planned Parenthood

(CNN) – Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus linked the women's health provider Planned Parenthood to the killing of newborn children in an op-ed article published Wednesday on the conservative website RedState.com.

His article – under the headline "Media Covers up Democrat-Backed Planned Parenthood's Support for Infanticide" - blasted the media for not covering the recent testimony of a Planned Parenthood representative in Florida, who provided veiled responses to questions from state lawmakers on what should happen to a baby born after a botched abortion.

"That decision should be between the patient and the health care provider," the Planned Parenthood representative, Alisa LaPolt Snow, said during her testimony. Priebus does include a section of the back-and-forth where Snow acknowledges "[t]hat's a very good question. I really don't know how to answer that."

"Not once in her testimony did the Planned Parenthood representative say the newborn baby has a right to life," Priebus wrote in his opinion piece. "Not once did she say anyone has a duty to care for the child. Whether the living, breathing child survives is up to the adults in the room because, as we now know, Planned Parenthood doesn't believe the baby has rights."

In a statement, Planned Parenthood wrote the lawmakers in Florida were inquiring about a "vague set of extremely unlikely and highly unusual medical circumstances."

"Medical guidelines and ethics already compel physicians facing life-threatening circumstances to respond, and Planned Parenthood physicians provide high-quality medical care and adhere to the most rigorous professional standards, including providing emergency care," the group wrote. "In the extremely unlikely event that the scenario presented by the panel of legislators should happen, of course Planned Parenthood would provide appropriate care to both the woman and the infant."

Long the focus of Republican ire, federal funding for Planned Parenthood arose during the 2012 presidential election when GOP nominee Mitt Romney vowed to "get rid" of the organization during an interview with a local television reporter in St. Louis.

That remark prompted an angry response from Democrats, who claimed Romney was aiming to eliminate an important source of women's health care – including mammograms and cervical cancer screenings.

In his article, Priebus recalled the Planned Parenthood barbs from last year's race, and said Democrats – including President Barack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, and Democratic National Committee chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz - should be held accountable for their support of the organization.

"In the last election, Republicans were repeatedly asked about whether they supported cutting funding to Planned Parenthood. It's time Democrats are asked whether they still support funding an organization that refuses to care for a newborn," he wrote.

Millie – politics is tricky – you need to read more to know what is going on.

They already separate funds – gov't funds go ONLY to the mammograms and such. Abortion is paid for with the fees charged to the women, and donations from private donors (like me). But this is all a political game, so politicians continue to attack Planned Parenthood and try to take it's gov't funding away, in order to punish them for being willing to perform a legal procedure that they don't like.

Note to DavidinNC: You forgot the immigrants. The RNC wants to keep the one already here in their places. Good ole Reince wants their votes, but not their views.

As a former center right independant who has only voted Democrat under President Obama, I cringe again at people like Priebus. I started thawing out just a little with the cooperation the right has been showing on immigration but alas it is just a trojan horse. Peolpe like him truely belong in a theocratic country like Iran. Please move and take your people with you so we can get on with making this county great again. Your kind are just an obsticle and waste our time and money.

They are talking about babies and children having rights? Aren't they the same people saying teenagers should not be able to have an abortion without parental consent? Doesn't that in turn say that we should take away a teenagers right to a legal procedure? Which way do they want it? Babies have rights and teenagers don't? GGGGEEEEESSSHHHHH!

Okay, Karie. You guys have to change your slogan, then. You're not pro-life, you're pro-life-that-can-grow-into-a-human-being. That means life that is self-sustaining. A bundle of cells in a uterus can no more grow into a human being on its own than can a single sperm. It requires the exact conditions for growth, just like a sperm does.

In any case, you guys are not pro-life, because a sperm and an egg are already alive, and you kill them off like they were nothing, even though they have to potential to form a living human being, just like a clump of cells in a uterus. A clump of cells might some day be fully human, but in the uterus, it is not, no matter how you try to define it as such. Your argument that life begins at conception is transparently a lie.

You really think we women are going to listen to your ridiculous "what if" scenarios Mr Reince? Why don't you talk about the Republicans having the most anti living child policies in the country. The Republicans are so concerned about the pre born, that they forget these children's needs after they are born. Like a good education, a full belly, a place to live, a job. Republicans are our country's version of the Taliban. Priebus is a knucklehead

Karie said: "sperm is alive but it cannot grow into a human being on its own, therefore, killing it does not kill a living and growing human being."
A clump of cells in a uterus cannot grow into a human being on its own, either. It requires the mother's body to do so. Just as an egg requires a sperm to begin that journey. Until a fetus reaches the age at which it can live separately from its mother's body, it is not fully human; it is a part of its mother's body. Nothing could be more obvious to me.

Democrats are the most fascinating creatures. They support an agency wholeheartedly, constantly bolstering the organization through propaganda about how that organization is providing valuable medical care to women, which is a "right" to them. Yet, they act completely incredulous when they are called out on the beliefs and practices of that organization. The fact of the matter is that a Planned Parenthood representative, in front of a committee of Floridian pols, refused to state affirmatively that Planned Parenthood opposes killing a child that has left the mother's womb if that child mother wanted it aborted. Remember, this is an organization that actively supports a mother's right to kill her own child because she simply doesn't want to be bothered raising it. Abortion is the ultimate in selfishness. They hide behind all kinds of reasons, but ultimately it lies with a parent who is just to lazy and self-absorbed to give of themselves to raise a child. I don't know why anyone should be surprised by this. Dems have always supported the lazy, the criminal and the character-deprived. It's their base. I was surprised that Obama used kids as props in his gun-control propaganda. After all, if those kids were just a few years younger, he would support the mother's right to kill that child. Now, he wanted to save them. Talk about conflicting philosophies. But, alas, that's what the illogical do, keep stammering through contradictory, fact-starved, emotional arguments because they think it makes them more evolved. Humorous, very humorous.

Make no mistake....the republicans aren't pro life, they're pro birth. After birth they'll let you starve or go to the electric chair. Life's only precious if it turns out to be a republican wedge issue, or a republican voter.

Why are people satisfied with their bodies and want to destroy others like themselves. Psalm 139: 14-16 tells us where
we are coming from. I was an imperfect child, and they would have destroyed me, but God made me live.
