(CNN) – Republican leaders in Congress received a dire warning on Tuesday from former Vice President Dick Cheney on the ongoing crisis in North Korea.
“We’re in deep doo doo,” Cheney told lawmakers, according to a GOP leadership aide.

Cheney added the current North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, is unpredictable and doesn't share the United States worldview.
One lawmaker present at the session, Rep. Steve Southerland of Florida, said Cheney wore a cowboy hat and "looked really good, spoke really clearly, lucidly.”
“It was nice to see him doing well,” Southerland said, noting the last time Cheney was on Capitol Hill he "didn’t look good – very frail, but in this meeting he looked great."

Cheney, 72, underwent a successful heart transplant in 2012 after a series of heart attacks over many years.
Southerland said Cheney spent about 10 minutes in the GOP leadership meeting Tuesday, and didn't give any specific policy recommendations or critiques of how the Obama administration is handling the situation in North Korea.
Cheney talked about the North Korean leader, Southerland said, and shared some of his history dealing with Saddam Hussein, noting "you never know what they're thinking."

Southerland, summarizing the former vice president’s remarks, said Cheney advised not to “eliminate any possibility.”
“Here's a young guy we don't know very much about – have very little intel on him, so we just need to make sure that we don't assume why he's doing what he's doing because he could be doing what he's doing for any number of reasons,” Southerland recalled Cheney saying.
Cheney also dropped by the weekly House GOP whip meeting at the invitation of Rep. Kevin McCarthy.

Cheney himself is a former House Republican whip.
"Whip McCarthy invited Vice President Cheney to discuss the ongoing situation on the Korean Peninsula with members of our whip team. We appreciate the vice president for sharing his insight and experience on the matter," a McCarthy aide told CNN.
The aide declined to say whether Cheney suggested any specific course of action on the situation in North Korea during this meeting.

Why am I not surprised? The big warmonger opens his mouth and nothing comes out but warning to spread fear...
Looks like we have a true dichotomization. On one hand the Cheney who very well may want military action in an effort to peel more money off for himself and his rich buddies. Then we have Obama who refuses to acknowledge there's a potential threat because he's too busy hosting A-list celeb parties, golfing, etc. In the middle we have an almost entirely polarized society; very few common sense individuals in the middle. I did three tours in Iraq no thanks to these turdburglars named Bush, Cheney and DUMBsfield!
So, if Cheney is behind the North Korean aggression, we need to waterboard the truth out of Dennis Rodman ASAP before one of those missiles hits Seattle.
Notice that Cheney knows no more about it than anyone. Remember on Iraq he made up a series of lies about WMD. He hasn't done that yet with North Korea. He should take his cowboy hat, take a dump in it and pull it down over his head. MO Ron
If it was up to Cheney, we would be in yet another war. Time for him to shut his trap. If N. Korea was dumb enough to attack us or our allies, they would be wiped off the planet in less than an hour – AND THEY KNOW THAT.
Cheney beating the wardrums for Halliburton? Never!
It would have been funnier if he said we're deep into a poo poo platter here!
Cheney, you are in a deep doo-doo too. Whatever you have to say you are irrelevant, the nerve of you inciting on issues
about North Korea, maybe you want America to be in another war so you can make more monery. Don't you forget the
American soldiers and the innocent Iraqi people killed because of your WMD. Shame on you!!!
Nice to see we paid enough for him to have a heart transplant. Looks like socialized medicine is working pretty well for our old executive branch. I hope he stays alive long enough for somebody to figure out what they did in Iraq with the contractors. We have been sold a bill of goods as US taxpayers.
The world will be a better place when Mr. Cheney moves on to his next life. What a complete and total moron.
Pipe down Cheney and go away...it's been so nice not seeing your villainous mug these last 5 years.... but first scan these comments and know that you didn't fool everybody.
Cheney is a war criminal and should be in prison. This crook led GWB by the nose into a war that has cost this country dearly and he's proud of it.He should be tried by the World Court and put in prison for the rest of his miserable life.
He is right we need to teach North Korea a lesson. Lets invade South Korea :)
Jimmy, don't you think there is enough evidence to say we SHOULD be worried? Ignoring reality never works out well in the long run.
Fear is always the most reliable tool of warmongers.
If their intelligence was so great, why did we get attacked on 911?
Why did we attack Iraq on grounds that they had weapons of mass destruction?
Bush and Cheney's watch, I believe.
Please go back to Faux News with the rest of the simpletons.
The War Criminal speaks.
It's funny how you Libs hate Cheney but seem to get woodies over Kim Jong Un. Makes us wonder what side you really are on! CNN likes to censor free speech, by the way! Commie News Network!
The sanctions are obviously working and now North Korea is getting desperate! North Korea aint gonna do anything!
why is anyone listening to him, and better yet why is the media even posting his comments, the media was sucked into his b.s. last time and sold america a bill of goods
Well, at least this time we know there really are weapons of mass destruction.
We're in deep doodoo? Only if we listen to the liar and profiteer Cheney.
And to think hillery was just talking to this new NUT in March of last year and yet she is hailed a hero LOL What a joke she is.
yeah, Cheney, we're in "deep doo-doo" so I am sure if all goes amuck, you will be so glad to bring in Haliburton to make things easier...right? Nice of Congress to ignore that conflict of interest during the Gulf war.....
