Political rhetoric finds its way into post-bombing debate

Washington (CNN) – Few answers have emerged to the myriad questions about the Boston Marathon bombing and its aftermath, but that didn't stop political leaders from clashing about what happened and why it did on Sunday talks shows.

Republican members of Congress played up a possible connection to global terrorists and said the lone surviving suspect should be designated an enemy combatant to allow unfettered questioning and unlimited detention.

Next time maybe these members of congress should be on the front line really doing the job these men and women do in spite of congress and states wanting to cut their jobs.

  2. Just a thought

Here we go...Everybody is a global terrorist and no party understand terrorism like the party of the "brain-less"...funny how they missed everything related to stopping 9/11 even with PDB's "....Al Queda / Bin Laden INTENT on using planes to attack the US" ....And Then, And Then...get this....WE INVADED THE WRONG COUNTRY.... Now we're suppose to listen to these GOP-Fool-leo's and their mouth breathing supporters saying how things were missed in Boston. Yep two back packs were not found in a crowd of thousands.

So easy to measure intelligence against the GOP-Fooleo's and their Faux news / Rush Dumbo followers...You are a genius with just modicum of common sense. These Ring-wing goose steppers couldn't find their fannies with both hands -- sigh

Republicans live on fear. They are a fear based party. Without fear their base would become almost normal and possibly even see the error of their ways.

McCain, Graham, and Ayotte. The three stooges of fear.

The republicans would use a napalm bomb to start a BBQ if they could.

  5. Muslim...The "M" word... the new unspeakable word

Of course you treat this Muslim terrorist ass an enemy combatant to gather any intel you can get. There is more than enough evidence to execute him without his statements. Lawyer him up and you won't get anything. Any support network or other attacks that may have been planned will be lost. He can always be tried in the courts whether he is read his Miranda rights or not.

First off one of the alleged bombers is dead and the second apparently shot in the throat and mybe unable ever to speak again.
However, innocent until proven guilty is the law of the land. and he can be tried under the terrorism laws for US citizens, both will require a grand jury to indict him based on evidence. Until then its a crime and He has miranda rights.
Also as a person concerned about civil rights the fact is we declared war on terror under GW Bush!! if we are at war the the Geneva conventions apply, but Litigious america only wants its own rules so tries to invent a new type of war criminal that has no domestic criminal rights nor the protections of internation war criminals under the Geneva convention. this kind of talk and behavior is what makes the USA have a bad international reputation!
    Regards,
    Hodgson.

I'm proud of our first responders, the National Guard, the FBI, the local police officers, Boston's leaders, and our President.
