Photo: Obama pauses to remember Boston victims

(CNN) - In a White House photo, President Barack Obama observes a moment of silence for victims of the Boston Marathon bombings. The moment took place exactly one week since the blasts, which killed three people and left scores injured.

President Bush would have done this in private. But Obama has to publicize (and politicize) because it's all about him.

Bush recently painted a portrait of himself in the shower. No narcissism there... a little creepy too...

apparently the people who posted don't understand the job of the white house photographer. There is no privacy for the any president. It is not a question of being a narcissist this is how we as a nation record history. same done for our republican presidents. So give it a rest . Im sure you can find something more substantial to complain about

The vitriolic comments about "OUR" President have become exhausting. The poor man can't even stand with the people of Boston for a moment of silence without being crucified. Why don't some of you hate mongers STOP and take a moment of silence for the poor people in our country who have been hurt or killed because of a few crazed individuals. Then CALM DOWN...

He is the terrorist's worst nightmare because he listens to his military and intelligence operators, makes decisive decisions, and leads with integrity
    -------------------------------------------------
That he is Larry L, well said.
This President, this man, is one of the most UNITING figures this country has seen in many decades. All you have to do is look at the rainbow and diversity of people that voted for him and support him. That would include honorable Republicans, by the way. Yet the screaming meemees mental midgets on thsi site would have you believe otherwise.
Newsflash: People who harbor hate in their heart for this man are fooling NO ONE with their re-creation of facts, and twisiting of documented events.
THIS President, as John McCain spitefully referred to him (THAT ONE) is a blessing on this country, one that some of you do not appreciate nor deserve. He has busted his hump from before Day One to ensure that he is giving us well-thought-out governance and not reactive mandates, puncutated by uninformed knee-jerk reactions like the previous and soon to be forgotten occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
May God continue to protect President Obama each and every day of his term, and long and healthy life.

Perhaps we'll see the moment of silence for the dead at West, Texas. Or the victims of Dr. Gosnell (who is he, anyway).

    Perhaps not.

You people do realize that when the crap blew up in Texas that was an accident, right?
An accident possibly due to negligence some are saying....but I digress.
The point is that not even some of those that post here on a regular basis, at all hours of the day AND wee hours of the night, even you people must realize that it would be IMPOSSIBLE for the President, yea, even THIS President, to stand and mourn and observe moments of silence for every single accident victim in this nation.

What happenned in Texas was tragic. Lives were lost. My condolences to all the bereft. But make no mistake, the President DID NOT have to show up and mourn with the mourners of that tragedy, yet he did, and that is what you conveniently overlook as you continue to ask more, and more, and more of this man.
You know where most of you and your ridiculous "Yeah but abouts..." can go, don'tcha?

For many of you who have posted comments here calling Obama names and making comments that are very derogatory in nature, I just wish you could look yourself in the mirror before you write. If you were in his shoes , you will do the same thing. Many smart people have commented here to say that is how those of us who are not in the White House know that he observed a minute of silence. Leave the poor man alone dumb re-neck Republicans.

    Hey Bill,
I guess you forget good ole Joe Wilson from I believe Florida. Yelling YOU LIE at the President during his State of the Union address. Remember THAT!

There are some comments I have read here, made me think many times why the background check didn't go through. You can understand what kind of a person one is, by reading what they write. And these are the people who are possessing assault weapons. We are in big trouble I reckon!

I believe it was a Republican who yelled out "You lie" in the State of the Union Address. I remember Bush's first speech in the lame duck period – when mentioned the "political capital" he intended to spend. Starting a war with falsified information may have also caused some polarization...

I thank GOD for our president!! He is a very compassionate, understanding & wise leader! ~Unfortunately there are some miserable insane few, but the majority of U.S. citizens knew we re-elected the "Best President Ever!!" We will continue to pray for him & his family for GOD to bless & watch over them. :)

Just to be clear ... no, I didn't act any differently to GW while he was President than I do to Barack Obama. Nor did I act differently to Bill Clinton, or HW Bush, or Ronald Reagan, or Jimmy Carter, or Gerald Ford, or Richard Nixon. Some I have voted for, some not. But I did respect ALL of them while IN office.
