For those complaining about the press being present, it's called the White House photographer who follows the president (all presidents) around and captures moments just like this. Please stop reading more into this than what it is – President Obama observing a moment a silence and prayer for Boston. Those of you with your snide remarks – shame on you!!!

He was "chosen" ... Regardless of what you believe or what you say ... God will have his way.
    -------------------------------------------------
It kills many Republicans to hear you say that because according to them God was the one that was supposed to choose the winner in 2008.....and 2012, although they were less vocal about it in 2012 seeing how God chose Obama in '08.
He was indeed chosen by God and our vote.

Wow! Isn't this supposed to be somewhat personal?! Why must every little thing Mr. Obama does must be over-publicised?! Must be a slow news day at the White House and at CNN, etc., etc.!

The camera and news crews, along with lighting technicians and make-up artists some of you think were present during this moment are ALL named Pete Souza, official White House photographer.
It is only 9am. Give your heart and your hate a rest.

You just have to keep bringing it up for the next 4 years...And guess what you won't change a thing. Obama is The President, and will be recalled as One of the Best Ever...Period

The President once again did exactly what we need our leader to do in a crisis scenario – he directed the federal assets with decisively and responsibly. He sent yet another message to terrorists and remains their worst nightmare. Your desire to find something wrong with his every action, now matter how trivial or illogical, likely manifests from personal racism. It's not helpful to America and certainly not something a person who truly loves our country would do.

The only people politicizing this are the ones comlpaining. All of Boston did a moment of silence yesterday at 2:50. Obama showed his solidarity with us. Those who would seek to undermine that are the ones behaving in a divisive manner, not him. You insult us all with your spite. Choke on it.

He`s the friggin` President you idiots. Theire are pictures taken with him on just about everything. Why, because YOU [the public] have celebrity-itis. They next time he walks to/from a news conference or strolls on the circular drive at the WH or just plays with Bo [the dog] LISTEN to How many CAMERA`s are CLICKING . . . and that doesn`t even cout the silent, digital ones.

Honestly, you guys are yapping about a picture? A camera is around most presidents all the time because HISTORY can occur at any moment. GWB reading a book during the 9-11 attack; JFK Jr. crawing through his father`s desk, all captured in photos. It`s the nature of the position.

@ Peven B Grow up ! Stop trying to be a " big guy " with the Republicans and hate mongers by trying to find fault with everything this man does. All presidents have a White House Photographer with them at all times and that is how these pictures happen. He photographs the president at all times and some of the pictures make it to the public.

I'm encouraged to see so many intelligent responses to the mindless haters. I believe citizens should keep politicians honest and critical comments are a part of that process. But this President has done a magnificent job of dealing with terrorism and only people with some "other" agenda could find fault with his leadership. He is the terrorist's worst nightmare because he listens to his military and intelligence operators, makes decisive decisions, and leads with integrity.

President Bush would have done this in private. But Obama has to publicize (and politicize) because it's all about him.

Dean, how about the "Mission Accomplished" photo....Methinks you are a jealous Republican because we do have a president who THINKS before he ACTS, STANDS with his people always, not just in times of crisis! The photographer is with him all the time, this photo shows a HUMAN in the office! Get over it!

I've seen dozens of photos of Bush praying – even leading prayer meeting with his primary staff. I also recall the Bush photo-op of "mission accomplished" – when he flew in to an aircraft carrier to pop-out and declare the war over. Unfortunately he was ten years and over 4000 American Service-member's lives early.

Where is the moment of silence for all the Texans killed from the blast in West. BTW- Barry came to Dallas several days ago, a little over an hour from West, and didn't bother to go visit the site of this tragedy.
    Selective mourning....
