Congressman doubts suspected marathon bombers acted alone

(CNN) - Rep. Peter King has his doubts the two young men accused of bombing the Boston Marathon last week launched their attack without some help.

“I just find it very hard to believe that two individuals such as this could have obtained the weapons, the explosives, put it all together, arranged this on their own,” the New York Republican said Thursday on CNN’s “The Lead with Jake Tapper.” “I believe that there were other people involved domestically, either as active conspirators or as facilitators who knew what was going on and said nothing and looked the other way.”

Why should there be any doubt? With the internet and all the other media at our disposal, you can do anything. Anything. These two punks were just out to have a "little fun" at the expense of the American people. Just watching the fear and emotions of a nation scared and glued to our television sets got these thugs high. The only problem is this "joy ride" didn't go the way they thought it would, as one is now deceased and the other (right now), has no future other than solitary confinement in a prison cell.

    Mr. King,

    Please show us your proof.

I have proof that 31,000 Americans die or injured in gun violence per year in our country. But we are controlled by the GOP minority and the powerful NRA.

The good Congressman from New York has no doubt forgetten about Columbine, and all the damage two teenagers were able to perpetrate.Perhaps you can wait until the investigation is concuded before pontificating on things you can only guess about. Face it sir, this may not pan out to be some larger conspiracy. As a Republican that must be difficult for you to accept If things don't pan out your way, consult (conspire!?) with Mr. Graham in the Seante- he loves conspiracy theories.

Of course he does..... The alternative doesn't fit with the Fox News vitriol.

I'm not saying the bomber is telling the truth but unfortunately the GOP has done absolutely nothing the last 5 years except pick apart every syllable that has come out of President and Mrs. Obama's mouths and obstruct everything to move our country forward. They have looked under every rock and found absolutely nothing. They are beginning to sound like the boy who cried wolf.

Why does he find it so hard to believe that two college educated men couldn't figure out how to build a low grade explosive device? From everything I have read in the media, there are guides on the internet that teach you step by step how to construct such devices.

If we want a better press, we`d better demand it. From the Conkite school of reporting, a responsible journalist would ask the Congressman questions like-

1.) Sir, are you speculating or do you have concrete evidennce to back up your claim?

2.) If you are speculating, please tell our viewers why they should tend to believe your speculation?

3.) What alternate course of action are you proposing Sir? What is the cost and implementation schedule for that approach?

Apply that rigorous line of questioning on the regular and America`s partisan divide will narrow considerably.

King and people like King believe this because it can be used to support their political goal of ginning up fear – in this case fear if Islam.

The entire Republican playbook is built on whipping up and sustaining fear as a means of gathering power to themselves. They picture wind up the tiny-brained, then paint themselves as protectors – the Daddy party – and hopefully turn it into votes.

Why would he doubt that? There are many that have acted alone like the Unabomber. Why is that so hard? There is so much stupid information out there.

That young man is not talking to the police or the FBI, the people need to leave that bomber alone because we the people dont know nothing about the bomber what he have said to other people or what going to happen next. Them polices an the fbi will cause more bombing if they dont stop what they are doing an leave the man alone.

Everyone can scoff at the possibility, but only time will tell. I question the all the things that have happen just the past week or so, fire in Texas, the barge oil fire. The President has tried so hard to have the American people to believe we are safe under his watch from terrorist groups and with all the disasters that have occurred , I believe those could be some one at the cause of them. Political correctness by this administration is not making me feel safer.

Why do you doubt this, Pete? Just because your IRA comrades can't do anything without at least 50 other people helping them doesn't mean someone with a clue and a perceived cause can't accomplish something by himself.

Do we pay King to base his actions on his gut feelings or to base his actions on credible facts?

Truthfully, this isn't even worth reporting except that it's another example of King and republicans overall simply spouting out whatever crosses their thread bare minds.

Follow the money. The dead one was unemployed with his spouse working for $12 per hour. The other one was unemployed. They had cars. One was able to fly to Russia and stay there for 6 months. Etc, etc. Follow the money, and you'll find the answers... you always do.
