(CNN) - Texas Gov. Rick Perry is demanding an apology from a California newspaper that published a cartoon that seemed to link his push for less regulations to the recent fertilizer plant explosion that killed 14.
"The Sacramento Bee published a disgusting 'cartoon' mocking the deadly explosion in West. While I will always welcome healthy policy debate, I won't stand for someone mocking the tragic deaths of my fellow Texans and our fellow Americans. I have written the editor and asked that they apologize to the citizens of West," Perry wrote on his official Facebook page.

I wonder if Governor Rick Perry got as upset over the cartoon of Predident Obama pictured as a simeon in the New York Post soon after Obama got into office
Most Texans will have no clue as to what "simeon" means. We only teach science as it appears in the Bible...
Gov. Perry should be apologizing to the people of Texas. His corporatist policies have put Texas on the path back to the 19th century.
Well, we've heard these kinds of excuses from Guv'nah Goodhair before! Either he's rollin' the curlers too tight or using "deregulated" x-tra strength hairspray again, but he's obviously forgotten how often he used deregulation as a selling point last year, for companies to relocate to Texas! I advise another look at the cartoon! Could it be it's mocking you, Guv'nah & not the poor people who died due to lack of oversight!? Things that make you go, "hmm"!!
Anyone hear republicans complain about regulations lately? I wonder why they seem quiet on this front over the last week or so?
Rick Perry owes the people of Texas and especially the victims families an apology and more. The severe lack of regulations for worker safety in Texas is is appalling and Perry should face charges along with the Texas legislature.
I'm kind of in the middle. While it is true that deregulation may have led to this, right now isn't the time to try and score political points. this is just like Senator Dips*** from South Carolina immediately jumping on the Obama administration for the Boston bonding. We need to let things settle down so we can view things with a clear head, and not an emotional reaction.
Republicans are always DEMANDING something.
Do they not know how to ask?
