Palin no fan of ‘pathetic’ #nerdprom

(CNN) - Conan O’Brien and President Barack Obama may have had the political crowd in high spirits at Saturday’s White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, but in Alaska, Sarah Palin wasn’t laughing.

“Yuk it up media and pols,” the former Alaska governor wrote on her Facebook page. “While America is buried in taxes and a fight for our rights, the permanent political class in DC dresses up and has a prom to make fun of themselves. No need for that, we get the real joke.”

On Twitter she was even more barbed.

“That #WHCA was pathetic. The rest of America is out there working our asses off while these DC assclowns throw themselves a #nerdprom,” she wrote.

While this year’s dinner may have rubbed Palin the wrong way, she’s shown a little more love for the annual event in the past. In 2011, she attended an afterparty sponsored by Vanity Fair and Bloomberg News, held at the home of the French ambassador in Washington.

But she’s never attended the event, and has long mocked what she calls the “lamestream media” for an overly cozy relationship with the political establishment.

I agree with Sarah. Lets together and talk about how great we are.

She is the real joke. As a failed governor, failed vice presidential candidate, failed politician, failed demogogue, and failed pundit, what's left for her, celebrity boxing? Why does anybody keep giving her a microphone?

Yeah baby, while America is working their asses off to survive, Republican politicians are up in arms over Beyonce and her husband going to Cuba..While I think it was insensitive of them to go there, I believe the republicans need to find other issues to take on.

Sarah....do I detect just a bit of "jealousy" that you're no longer part of the Washington crowd...even your conservative friends at FOX...oh, I forgot, your no longer a FOX contributor.

Pot calling the kettle black here. Had she and McCain won 5 years ago they two would hold similar parties with a different theme.

I see that I am the first comment on this page. Who is this "Palin" lady? I she famous or something? She needs to learn how to take a joke.

I'm sure she would have been yucking it up with the media if she hadn't have driven McCain's campaign into the ground. Did she have a problem with it when Bush was president?

Thank you, Sarah, well said. I'm not "yucking it up", either. Tom Brokaw made a wise choice in forgoing the event. Journalistic integrity has taken a backseat to being the first to have "Breaking News" flash across their network screens-so what if it's not remotely close to the facts?

When will Palin just go away ? She was one of the main reasons why McCain lost in 2008. She is also a 1/2 term Governor who resigned only to get speaking fees from her Tea Party followers and promote a book or two. She is a joke.

I love when entertainers like Palin criticizes the news entertainment industry. I wonder if she'll make another reality TV show, I totally could see her on celebrity apprentice with Flavor Flav.

Pathetic is how the rest of America describes your political career Sarah. Unable to even finish your job in Alaska you decide to profit by dividing people and spewing your negativity all over the airwaves. Hurts the Republican party to see your bitterness to no end. Please fade away quietly.

I about fell off my chair laughing when Palin said we are all out there working our a@@'s off! Palin working at anything is off the charts funny! Also, she hasn't been in Alaska for a very long time, a fact we in Alaska are very happy about.

"The rest of America is out there working our asses off..."

Someone should tell Sarah Palin that ignorant tweets and Facebook updates don't count as work.

Is it possible that we've had enough of Sara Palin and that she should be ignored? My answer is "Yes!". She and Michelle Bachmann are two of the worst examples of politics gone wild and neither have any meaningful things to contribute. My advice to both is to just go away and avoid microphones, video cameras, etc. You've already made fools of yourself to such an extent that all you do with further commentary is dig that hole deeper.
