(CNN) – President Barack Obama confidently declared that his administration will get things done in Washington despite an atmosphere he described as divided and politically dysfunctional.
Speaking at a press conference 100 days into his second term, Obama fielded a range of questions on topics including Syria and the Boston Marathon attack, and he defended his administration's actions and positions.
as sorry as the economy is he might want to take a deep breath..that will defate your confidence
"I think there's a genuine desire on many of their parts to move past not only sequester, but Washington dysfunction. Whether we can get it done or not, you know, we'll see."
Those select few senators may want to end the dysfunction, but that can't happen while McConnell is minority leader. Secondly, the only reason they don't like sequester is because of the defense cuts. Well, this is Congress' doing, so they can undo it. But I'd be damned if they do another FAA tactic while other programs like Head Start and Meals on Wheels get cut.
Of course Obama is confident. He can still count on Republicans as opponents. Republicans call him "the worst ever" but cannot find a candidate who can beat him. In other words, Republicans are worse than "the worst ever."
I'd be confident too if I had this bunch of Repubs. as opposition. Their hatred of Obama has blinded them to Common Sense solutions to serious problems facing this country;and most Americans see that.
