April jobs report: Hiring picks up

New York (CNNMoney) - Job growth was stronger than initially reported at the start of 2013, and U.S. employers continued to hire in April.

The economy added 165,000 jobs in April, according to a Labor Department report released Friday.

The job situation is sooooooo dismal, with so many people who have simply given up looking, that the Dem socialists are grasping at anything that makes the situation look better than it really is.

The job situation in America will take years to recover. Literally. If it ever does.

Do you do children's parties, as well? If there is anything symbolic of what Pat Toomey said earlier this week about not wanting to hand the President a victory, but willing to screw with the public, that statement sums it up.

"The drop in the jobless rate reflected a gain in employment, rather than people leaving the workforce. The workforce actually expanded, while the labor force participation rate – the share of working-age Americans who either have a job or are looking for one – held steady at a 34-year low of 63.3 percent."

It would be better, had the Red state govenors not used stim funds to balance their budgets retroactively( Perry, Jindall, Sanford etc), but instead actually used it for projects to put people to work: projects that we need more than yet another tax cut for people who will simply send the money out of the country anyway.

Is anyone has time to be wasted by these GOP clowns? I hope not. 2014 can't come fast enough and folks should take own broom and clean out the house. Can anyone imagine how things should be flourishing by now if they could have been working hand in hand with the President? What about all of us in a chorus scream out: "Enough is enough, we can't take it anymore"! Folks, start making your decision now, so you can throw away those unwanted.

"A great and safe weekend to one and all."

I have to laugh at your comment. Well, not acutally laugh, but giggle. This past week my 3 year old grandson and I came up with a "snow, snow go away ... we want summer so we can play" dance. Apparently we need to add a few more tweeks. It's still snowing.

I want to know WHY you believe that "things would be flourishing". HOW do you know that? HOW can you be so certain that things wouldn't be worse? Basically, HOW can you prove a negative?

Since the borrowing rate of interest is so low, I say that we can borrow some money to build/rebuild the bridges, roads, tunnels and ocmmunications networks.
    -----–
Funny you should say that... interest rates apply to accumulated debt as well as new borrowing, you know. So tell me... what is going to happen to this economy when interest rates rise (and they WILL rise, they've nowhere else to go)... even by a meager 2 percent? I'll tell you what's going to happen – the amount to the budget that's going to service the debt will go up exponentially... then either a VERY deep recession or possibly a depression. Followed by default. Yeah... let's go borrow some MORE money. No sense in prolonging the inevitable.

Even in the midst of sequestration, jobs are still being added

Sometimes I despair and get really angry at the thought of how much further our country would be on the recuperation path if only these so-called Republicans would find their shame and sense of duty to country and STOP blocking everything this President proposes and has proposed.
Hate is killing our country in more ways than we can imagine.

Please don't try to turn a blind eye while you can see properly. We have been witnessing whatever the President proposes the other side turns it down. Do you think if he comes with the a bill of creating jobs they will vote for it? By the way most of GOP clowns were voted in, in 2010 by campaigning to create jobs. Don't forget the BIG clown Beohner who was even shedding tears.

So, because we disagree with you, the left, policies this administration wants to implement because we believe they will cause further damage to this country, we are called "haters?" A bit hypocritical, no?

No. It's because you disagree IRRATIONALLY, which leads you to refuse any compromise whatsoever, not simply because you disagree.

IMPROVED jobs report B.S.... The federal government counts 11.7 million Americans as unemployed to show a drop in unemployment. The real number is more like 17 million. The economy is still roughly 10 million jobs short of returning to normal levels of unemployment and labor force participation. That’s a lot of missing jobs.

A subjective opinion, therefore irrelevant. In my opinion, from reading your posts you are a very irrational/insane individual and should be committed. See, my subjective opinion of you is just as irrelevant as your opinion about our disagreement with this government's policies.

Using your logic, someone could say "well, it's a good thing the republicans put a check on Obama, otherwise these numbers wouldn't be as good." Again, HOW do you prove that right or wrong? You can't.

why do people keep saying that people have left the work force and this is not a true representation? That argument is getting old. Or is it just the repos that keep saying it? If Mitt where president now they would be saying how good we are doing. Article about gun control has pat Toomey saying repos did not vote for it because the president wanted it, Is this how we run this country now? The hell with what the people want let's just screw the president. Job numbers would be even better if the party of No would try and help the American people for a change. They sure can help themselves when they need to. Like with the airlines.

Just like the typical doomsday Repub. Who started the whole mess in the first place? Of course it's going to take years, we all know that, but it is at least going in the right direction. What has your party done to help get those jobs back that were lost – please tell us!!!

It's called the labor participation rate. It's at it's all-time low. You will not hear it from ANYONE "friendly" to this administration... but the numbers are there if should choose to find out for yourself.

Ten thousand Baby Boomers reach retirement age EVERY DAY, and many are choosing to leave the workforce. That's over 3.5 million people every year. THOSE are the people dropping out of the workforce and discontinuing looking for work.

You are a typical republicans who claims the President has failed like Sean Hannity's daily song which goes to god each day. I have never heard the President staying on bed day and night and don't do anything. You clowns you failed to make him one term President, now you are trying as hard as you can to make him seem he is doing nothing. Folks are not all that stupid. They understand each and everything and are aware of your intentions.

Yeah... it's definitely a portion. So exactly WHERE are those jobs that they're leaving? If 300K jobs monthly are being vacated and 160K are being "added", where's the other 140K jobs? Undeniably, the ACA is preventing the biggest employment driver in this country, that being small business, from either filling vacated positions or expanding. They would be financially foolish to do so.
