(CNN) - Republican U.S. Senate candidate Gabriel Gomez is calling on his Massachusetts opponent, Democratic Rep. Ed Markey, to take down a web video showing him on screen with Osama bin Laden.

NRA's LaPierre says gun rights struggle a 'long war'

(CNN) – Wayne LaPierre, the nation's most visible gun rights advocate, rallied supporters on Saturday for a renewed fight against gun-control, saying membership is up since the Newtown massacre and calling the effort to stop new limits a "long war" and a "fight for everything we care about."

Remarks by the National Rifle Association's executive vice president at the group's annual convention in Houston were heavy with militaristic and sweeping patriotic rhetoric and were characteristically hard on President Barack Obama, who has pushed for new firearms restrictions following the Connecticut school massacre in December.

LaPierre: 'How many Bostonians wish they had a gun two weeks ago?'

(CNN) – While investigators focus on developments leading up to the Boston Marathon bombing, gun rights advocates zeroed in on the tense days after the deadly attack and the frantic manhunt for one of the suspects.

National Rifle Association Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre said residents were "imprisoned" in their homes with no means to protect themselves while police searched for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

Obama backs same-sex provision to immigration bill

(CNN) - President Barack Obama supports a proposal to allow Americans to seek legal immigration status for same-sex partners, a plan that could undermine bipartisan support for comprehensive immigration reform.

Obama indicated at a news conference in Costa Rica on Friday that the idea was “the right thing to do,” but acknowledged that such a politically charged issue may ultimately not make it into a final immigration package.
