Mother of Benghazi victim: I blame Hillary Clinton

(CNN) - One woman still looking for answers about the September 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, is Pat Smith. Her son Sean Smith, a State Department information officer, was one of four Americans killed during the attack.

"I blame her," said Smith, referring to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

An explosion in a hostile area. Yeah that never happens. Come on! It sucks that those four people died, but it isn't shocking to see something like this happen in that region.

Mrs. Smith, I'm so sorry for your loss and understand your need to assign blame. However CNN reports that you said, "That's her department, she's supposed to be on top of it, and yet she claims that she knows nothing, it wasn't told to her." "Who's running the place?"

On top of what? What "it" was not told to her? The world is a very big place and we have Embassies and Consulates in nearly every country on the planet. Even the most obsessive micro-manager could be expected to stay of every detail pertaining to every issue faced by those Embassies and Consulates.

  6. Former Republican, now an Independent

I see this as another phoney Darrell Issa witch hunt. The republican party is scared to death that Hillary Clinton is going to run for president in 2016. If this should come true, the RNC has no one that is on her level of intelligence, and would not fare well against a candidate who is logical and not fanatical. Darrell Issa has wasted millions of taxpayer dollars on these phoney ordeals and if you check into his background, you will find a history that should have kept him from being a congressman.

She might do better to blame the people who actually murdered her son, rather than Clinton or even the Republicans who cut funding for consulate and embassy security. Too many unscrupulous political hacks and talk-show bloviators will glady stand on line to capitalize on her grief and confusion.

As you should Mrs. Smith. There is nothing as treasoneous and un-American as a liberal with power, authority and criminal self serving friends.

Because the Secretary of State should be micromanaging every single office under the State Department. Ya, no. There are plenty of people below Clinton in the chain of command that were more directly involved with consulate security. Just because a consulate was attacked doesn't mean it's the fault of the guy at the top in the same way the it's not the Chief of Police's fault that one of his officers was injured in a firefight.

Ms Wilson I'm sorry for the loss of your son Sean but just like the soldier he was he did know what he was getting into and you can't put every death or problem on Hillary Clintons back because its more involved than that..And Stevens the ambassador knew the area well being in the region for years and speaking their language fluently .Its not like a green ambassador just got hired for that job,he knew the people,he knew the region ,he knew again what he was getting himself into ,case closed...Just like being a foot soldier someone somewhere no matter what is going to die ,the odds are against you every minute so if you don't like the odds don't take the job, easy as that!!Yah signed on that dotted line didn't yah!!

It's simple folks.... Your lib God Oblameo, and Clinton LYED and FOUR American's DIED!! The End!

Pat Smith , Its terrible to loose a son . Yet , your son worked for the State department . He was working along side CIA at the mission in Benghazi . Was he not receiving hazardous duty pay for working at that station ?

You can blame Hillary , Obama , God himself . Your son chose his job , Embassy bombing in Kabul, Afghanistan, July 7, 2008, U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, Aug. 7, 1998.

Your son was a brave man . I would think he would want those criminals that committed the act held responsible . Not his coworkers, friends and associates .

She can blame her all she wants, but part of the blame goes with the ambassador who shouldn't have been there in the first place.

Yep, that's what this witch hunt is all about: Trying to eliminate Hilary from the 2016 race.

With all due respect, Mrs. Smith, the ones you should be blaming are the terrorists who killed your son.

Quick follow-up question: Do you blame GW Bush for 9/11? Because by your logic, you should.

And I'm sure everyone in the GOP is lining up to accuse this woman of exploiting her son's death for political gain ...

May God ease this Mother's pain. I just wish that h.c. would be able to listen to her and relate, as a mother, to her. If something tragic happened to Hillary's or the President's child, they would move heaven and earth to find out what and why and seek to avenge, if they could. Power, or their perceived wordly power, is their life's blood–their very life. They do not seek to do right if it would endanger their grasp on power. And I imagine that they do some pretty twisty reasoning in their little heads to reassure themselves that what they do–and the people hurt by their action or inaction–is just for the "greater good", and therefore "good."But in no way is a person's reputation, status or power worth maintaining at the cost of other people's lives. We all have sinned, but if you ask for forgiveness–from those whom you sinned against–and God, you can keep a grasp on your own soul. Even if you don't believe in God, there is a heavy price you pay for–the loss of your own humanity–when you harm others. And there is no escaping either the loss of God, or the loss of self–one way or the other a person becomes beyond redemption. I think that the collective American soul hurts badly as we watch our leaders writhe in the dirt. We all will pay.
