Extra IRS scrutiny on conservative applications shows 'corruption,' Palin says

(CNN) - Sarah Palin said the Internal Revenue Service's recent scrutiny of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status is a sign of "corruption at the heart of big government" in Washington.

"So many Americans knew this was happening, but many felt defenseless and even helpless against a government that seems to roll along without accountability or sense of obligation to the people it's supposed to serve. These Americans were mocked for being concerned about this, but now we see light shining on the truth, finally," she wrote in an online posting shortly after the IRS acknowledged it made "mistakes" in handling the applications of tea party groups.

Lois Lerner, director of tax exempt organizations for the IRS, said 75 applications were singled out between 2010 and 2012 for extended review because the words "tea party" and "patriot" were included in the groups' names. Those applications were part of approximately 300 which received additional scrutiny during that time.

"Americans should remember that this same corrupt IRS will be in charge of enforcing Obamacare," she wrote. "And this same inept and corrupt government will supposedly secure our now unsecured borders in advance of immigration reform and will implement a completely ethical and non-political IPAB panel to make life and death health care decisions for you and your family. Forgive me for not trusting these big government promises any more than I trust the White House's latest Benghazi spin or the IRS' fairness."

Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, further wrote, "I'm sure President Obama is grateful for all the help the IRS gave his reelection campaign, but, still, you have to wonder how the bureaucrats who tried to pull this off can sleep at night."

She called for "accountability and a full investigation" as well as a special committee to look into the Benghazi, Libya, attack last September.

Palin is corrupt herself. She's been free loading off people for years now and had her brother in law fired from his job.

She is absolutly right. The IRS is being used to make life miserable for those who don't toe the line.

She is nothing but a negative talking head for the GOP/Tea Party. Anyone with any intelligence wouldn't listen to her jabber.

Stop interviewing Palin. Her opinions and thoughts are less relevant than a random 4th grader. Less intelligent to boot.

Hmmm...the IRS is scrutinizing people that dislike taxes and go to great lengths to avoid them? Go figure... Sounds like the IRS is using common sense and statistics to identify people that are likely hiding something. Good for the IRS.

The IRS has always worked with me, when I got behind on my taxes.
I had a paper route when I was 13 years old, filed my tax return, but was a little short of money to pay my taxes.
The IRS waved the penalty, but I paid it anyway, because that is what a patriot does, pays his taxes.
These tea partiers are not patriots, they are people who do not like our government. The people who work for the IRS are only doing their jobs

Can you imagine Palin as president of the U.S? The whole world would attack the America to try to get to the stupid ones that voted her in. It seems the more Palin speaks the more demented she becomes. She should change her hair back to blond so she can look like her ditzy sister, Ann Coulter. I hope her boyfriend as cnn buys a toupee with a brain and stop covering her useless babble.

Boohoo, the big bad government is out to get you, what are you people all just waking up? That's what the tax collector does. Oh yeah and Benghazi, can't forget that, Sarah Palin is on top of it though so everybody can just relax. Keep digging and keep spending the tax payers money on investigations that go no where. Then make sure you blame the screw ups of the last adminstration on Barak Obama. Conservatives must really like spinning their wheels, just like their heads. Oh and don't forget the sky is falling, the sky is falling. Knuckleheads

  14. WOW Really

Sarah Palin really has gone over the hedge row on this one. Next she is going to blame the Obama administration for the actions of IRS employees. When it was a Bush appointee that had them do it. Who is now retired. Tax exempt status has a set of rules you have to go by to get it. The Tea party knew this. But the Tea party is also guilty of being bad little upstarts that are not doing what the GOP wants them to do. So you have to ask why the Republicans were looking at the children don't you. Maybe they thought the Tea Party was going become a real party instead of hide behind the Republican party. which would make trouble.

They just as well as any other bureaucrat did in any other administration. What. Do you think this is first time this has happened? Well, that is just naive, but what would we expect.
Sorry Neocons, your government has been forever ruined by the tactics you invented.

Senior Internal Revenue Service officials knew agents were targeting tea party groups as early as 2011, according to a draft of an inspector general’s report obtained by The Associated Press that seemingly contradicts public statements by the IRS commissioner.
Everyone who knew should lose their job. NOW.

And if they were doing it at the behest of higher-up officials, then those officials should lose THEIR jobs.

And if it was done on the order of Obama, then he should lose HIS job.

It should be the GOP screams and investigate things like this, but also get back to work creating jobs and cutting the deficit. But it's not like that. Pouncing on one gotcha! moment after the next until the next election is their plan for America
