Extra IRS scrutiny on conservative applications shows 'corruption,' Palin says

(CNN) - Sarah Palin said the Internal Revenue Service's recent scrutiny of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status is a sign of "corruption at the heart of big government" in Washington.

"So many Americans knew this was happening, but many felt defenseless and even helpless against a government that seems to roll along without accountability or sense of obligation to the people it's supposed to serve. These Americans were mocked for being concerned about this, but now we see light shining on the truth, finally," she wrote in an online posting shortly after the IRS acknowledged it made "mistakes" in handling the applications of tea party groups.

Lois Lerner, director of tax exempt organizations for the IRS, said 75 applications were singled out between 2010 and 2012 for extended review because the words "tea party" and "patriot" were included in the groups' names. Those applications were part of approximately 300 which received additional scrutiny during that time.

"Americans should remember that this same corrupt IRS will be in charge of enforcing Obamacare," she wrote. "And this same inept and corrupt government will supposedly secure our now unsecured borders in advance of immigration reform and will implement a completely ethical and non-political IPAB panel to make life and death health care decisions for you and your family. Forgive me for not trusting these big government promises any more than I trust the White House's latest Benghazi spin or the IRS' fairness."

Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, further wrote, "I'm sure President Obama is grateful for all the help the IRS gave his reelection campaign, but, still, you have to wonder how the bureaucrats who tried to pull this off can sleep at night."

She called for "accountability and a full investigation" as well as a special committee to look into the Benghazi, Libya, attack last September.

I am not on welfare, foods stamps, Obama Care and am not a democrat. But I'm so tired of hearing from Palin. She walked away from her elected duty and yet is still keeps cashing in on her 15 minutes of fame. She is nothing more than the equivalent of a reality show opportunist. Give me substantive comments from people with serious thought and integrity and then I'll pay attention. No matter which party they are affiliated with.

And I'm not saying I condone what the IRS did. But I don't need to hear anything from Palin.

  4. Right on, Sarah!!

When, oh when will the misguided Liberals see their Dear Leader's true colors! Boy, oh boy, has Obama ever pulled the wool over his sheeps' eyes! In fact, his whole administration is doing the same

This from the witch who, as Governor of Alaska, fired the Alaska Public Safety Commissioner because he refused to fire her ex-brother in law.

I agree. The foxes are guarding the chicken coop. Most baby boomer democrats work harder at stealing from those who generate the GDP than they ever would at generating actual GDP. It's a dog eat dog world out there. The US is an island in a sea of chaos. And Obama's looting the store.

How much more do we let slide? These shouldn't be partisan issues. Every American regardless of political affiliation should be disappointed with this administration and its cover ups.

@ Tom: I don't like Sarah Pali and I am NOT on food stamps, welfare or Obamacare. I am a hard working (not lazy) American Veteran, holding down several jobs and running my own business!

I strongly disagree with her, her lack of committment to something she started (governorship), and her narrow minded opinions...

For M-W-T. Sarah Palin did not quit her job because of any failings of hers. She resigned for the good of the state of Alaska. She was being inundated with accusations of wrong doing (all of which were determined to be false) by the liberal left who were on a mission to destroy her. The liberal attacks were so frequent and so time consuming to respond to that she felt continuing as governor was preventing the state from conducting its business. So, with the interests of Alaska and its citizens in mind, she resigned. This is not a failing on her part but one more example of how the left will use whatever tactic they can, valid or not, to try to destroy any opposition. Incidentally, Palin must have really terrified them if the intensity of their attacks is any measure.

    Tom,
I am a conservative woman, who has at no time in my life been on public assistance. I absolutely can not stand Sarah Palin. She is a symbol of the shallow, unintellenctual, sound bite and head shot polical mess that we live in today. She couldn't finish her term as Governor. She should have ran for congess where she could get paid for doing nothing for the last five years.

That woman is dumber than a box of rocks. Not surprised that the IRS would investigate the tea party. Those people are so rabidly anti-tax they would cheat or lie on their tax exempt application. Better look at that one twice. I would.

Good bye sarah. We don't care about your thoughts or rants.Try and stay with something ( instead of bailing ie :politics ) and try to have a thought that makes sense. Whoever is egging you on is a master and must be laughing at how he/she can make you look.

Why does anyone care what Sarah Palin says. She didn't even have enough of a sense of responsibility to finish her job as governor of Alaska, mainly because there just wasn't enough money in it. And, Tom, I am not on food stamps or welfare. I am a college educated working American who knows a phony when she sees one.

Sarah's just worried she'll get busted for campaign finance irregularities of her own, when the RNC dished out $150,000 on clothing AND JEWELRY for her entire family. Look it up! I guess that's the GOP version of food stamps: give to the rich, screw the poor.
