Extra IRS scrutiny on conservative applications shows 'corruption,' Palin says

(CNN) - Sarah Palin said the Internal Revenue Service's recent scrutiny of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status is a sign of "corruption at the heart of big government" in Washington.

"So many Americans knew this was happening, but many felt defenseless and even helpless against a government that seems to roll along without accountability or sense of obligation to the people it's supposed to serve. These Americans were mocked for being concerned about this, but now we see light shining on the truth, finally," she wrote in an online posting shortly after the IRS acknowledged it made "mistakes" in handling the applications of tea party groups.

Lois Lerner, director of tax exempt organizations for the IRS, said 75 applications were singled out between 2010 and 2012 for extended review because the words "tea party" and "patriot" were included in the groups' names. Those applications were part of approximately 300 which received additional scrutiny during that time.

"Americans should remember that this same corrupt IRS will be in charge of enforcing Obamacare," she wrote. "And this same inept and corrupt government will supposedly secure our now unsecured borders in advance of immigration reform and will implement a completely ethical and non-political IPAB panel to make life and death health care decisions for you and your family. Forgive me for not trusting these big government promises any more than I trust the White House's latest Benghazi spin or the IRS' fairness."

Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, further wrote, "I'm sure President Obama is grateful for all the help the IRS gave his reelection campaign, but, still, you have to wonder how the bureaucrats who tried to pull this off can sleep at night."

She called for "accountability and a full investigation" as well as a special committee to look into the Benghazi, Libya, attack last September.

I commend the IRS for a job well done. The Tea Party is nothing more than a radical political group that wants to push their views on others. And they will stoop to whatever means to accomplish their goal – lie, steal and cheat.

I'm appalled at how the IRS so "corruptly" made sure people were paying their taxes.

Corruption like Palin firing Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan over his refusal to let go a state trooper involved in a contentious divorce with the Quitta's sister?

Corruption like taking a housing allowance from the state when you lived in your own home?

Corruption like the Quitta's staffers helping Tom Lamal, who once co-hosted a Palin fundraiser, to get a job as a surveyor?

Corruption like the Quitta breaking election law by taking a public position on a mining ballot initiative days before the vote?

Corruption like the Quitta spending $150,000-plus on a designer wardrobe paid for by the Republican Party in direct violation of the Federal Election Campaign Act?

Corruption like charging the State of Alaska for travel expenses to take your children on trips?

Corruption like the Quitta using state staff, property, time and equipment for partisan political purposes?

Corruption like the Quitta misusing the governor's office for personal gain by securing unwarranted benefits and receiving improper gifts through the Alaska Fund Trust. The fund was recently established by supporters to help Palin pay off more than $500,000 in legal debts stemming from other ethics complaints, including troopergate.

    Palin = Quitter, Liar, Mooch

Surprise, surprise. And the general liberal response to this? It's "justified" corruption. Sheep. Don't worry, the government will take care of all your needs. They have your best interest in mind. Even if you don't agree with what is "in your best interest". Government knows best. Besides , it is just easier to let the government decide for you, right? Path of least resistance and all. Welcome to your liberal utopia! Congrats on a smashing success!

LOL. Now the Teapublicans are screaming about the IRS? Where were ya'll when corporations & rich folk were stashing their money offshore to avoid paying taxes for the last 30 years? Or when Sarah Palin used her campaign money for personal use? Or when The Koch brothers, Sheldon Aldelson, DeVos Family were buying political candidates & favors? Were you paying your taxes? Or are you a tax avoider like the rest of them? Why weren't you mad before now? Hypocrites.

any thing to try to get back into the lime light. I would have voted for McCain until they tank the election by bringing in this moron. She single handedly gave the election to Obama. No one wanted to take a chance that McCain would die in office and Ms. I can see Russia from my house would suddenly be in charge of anything. Every time she opens her mouth you gotta cringe because the next thing she says could be something crazy. Why anyone is continuing her 15 minutes of fame is insane to me. Jesus christ is there really no one left in the republican party that is a moderate and not a lunatic. We get worse and worse choices for president every election.

Ironic that Palin speaks about "corruption" as she's mastered the art by deceiving a group of supporters - stringing them along, accepting donations, and not running as a candidate. Ahhh, she's knows it when she sees it alright...

All revenue departments audit people randomly and profile potential cheaters. If you're not doing something wrong then what exactly are you afraid of?
Vexatious pursuit by IRS would be another matter entirely. Political harassment is gross, not subtle. Conservative groups have all sorts of lawyers to bring this light via the media. Is there any evidence of this? Also, Sarah dear, how much are you hiding away??

Fact; ACLU argued that it was lawful for citizens to refuse to pay taxes as a protest against Iraq war. There was no investigation for them.

Fact: the only reason why it has become public that the IRS has been targeting conservative groups was because of a slip up at a Qand A and if it were not for that even it would still be kept secret.

Fact; it was not just the tea party targeted " you know the group that idiot leftest are here claiming that the ORS was justified in harassing " it was every conservative organization with xyz keywords in their name.
