Extra IRS scrutiny on conservative applications shows 'corruption,' Palin says

(CNN) - Sarah Palin said the Internal Revenue Service's recent scrutiny of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status is a sign of "corruption at the heart of big government" in Washington.

"So many Americans knew this was happening, but many felt defenseless and even helpless against a government that seems to roll along without accountability or sense of obligation to the people it's supposed to serve. These Americans were mocked for being concerned about this, but now we see light shining on the truth, finally," she wrote in an online posting shortly after the IRS acknowledged it made "mistakes" in handling the applications of tea party groups.

Lois Lerner, director of tax exempt organizations for the IRS, said 75 applications were singled out between 2010 and 2012 for extended review because the words "tea party" and "patriot" were included in the groups' names. Those applications were part of approximately 300 which received additional scrutiny during that time.

"Americans should remember that this same corrupt IRS will be in charge of enforcing Obamacare," she wrote. "And this same inept and corrupt government will supposedly secure our now unsecured borders in advance of immigration reform and will implement a completely ethical and non-political IPAB panel to make life and death health care decisions for you and your family. Forgive me for not trusting these big government promises any more than I trust the White House's latest Benghazi spin or the IRS' fairness."

Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, further wrote, "I'm sure President Obama is grateful for all the help the IRS gave his reelection campaign, but, still, you have to wonder how the bureaucrats who tried to pull this off can sleep at night."

She called for "accountability and a full investigation" as well as a special committee to look into the Benghazi, Libya, attack last September.

If you check into Sara Palin's background you will find she did quite a few questionable things as Mayor and Governor before she resigned half-way through her term because she realized she could make more money on the lecture circuit. Her commentary has no relation with reality and never did even Fax News fired her. Why does the media keep talking about her??????

The left wing just goes nuts when Sarah shows up and tells them the truth. A left winger does not know the truth, does not care to know the truth, has no integrity, will believe and support any lie that comes from obama and crown.

How about they give extra scrutiny to any organizaiton that includes the words "Occupy", "Fairness", "Workers" or "Union". Yeah, I didn't think you left-wing hypocrits would like the government going after them.

The IRS should increase scrutiny of groups who are known to be against taxation. Skanky Palin needs to get a clue!

Wait, isn't this the same party that is happy with racial profiling for terrorism & the patriot act? The one that says 'well if you have nothing to hide, let us tap your phones and check your library checkoutlist"? What, they dont like when the same mentality is applied to them?

The irs was doing their job. The so called tea parties or tea party patriots should be scrutinized. There is nothing legitimate about them . They are only fronts for the Koch Brothers and trying to bring down the government. Why do they need tax exempt status for such nonsense?

While they're at it the IRS should search for the word "church" and take that tax free status away too.

She also blast people who can"t finish a job they were elected to.. Birth control for minors, and premarital sex for teens. Palin has no credibility.. I would be interested in seeing her tax returns and the deductions she used while "using the system" and in essence abusing the tax laws.

Sounds more like to me, that they are coming close to her golden egg. She will eventually be caught with her hand in the campaign cash cookie jar and hopefully PUBLICLY punished.

So out of 300 applications, 75 were Tea Party related. How does that make them targeted? The IRS is perfectly within it's authority to look into these applications. It's not like the Tea Pary is know for social welfare OR paying taxes. If anyone thinks these kinds of organizations do not need extra scrutiny, look into the activities of A.L.E.C. and get back to us.

This is actually a BIG DEAL. The IRS is working for the left by targeting groups from the right. This is about to get blown wide open and alot of people will get exposed. I came to CNN's site to see if they are covering the extensiveness of this conspiracy. Well they are.....but of course, instead of covering the actual story, they headline it as a rant by Palin. So, the average dumb leftist does not see the real story, but is blinded by their hatred for Palin, hence....down playing the severity of this issue. Good job covering up for the left, yet again, CNN. You never fail to disgust me.
