Obama: Alleged IRS political targeting 'outrageous'

Washington (CNN) - President Obama vowed Monday to hold the Internal Revenue Service accountable if reports of political targeting are proved true.

"If in fact IRS personnel engaged in the kind of practices that have been reported on and were intentionally targeting conservative groups, then that's outrageous. And there's no place for it," Obama told reporters.

    I am amazed that so many comments seem to be in support of these acts! This is far worse than Watergate and should frighten you no matter whether you are liberal or a thinking person. People acceptance is scarier than the IRS thuggery

    According to the facts, this goes back to at least 2011. The IRS chief was a Bush appointee. IRS employees were flagging conservative groups' applications and expediting them for approvals. Not one was turned down.
