Let's get rid of Obamacare AND ALSO the laws that force hospitals to take all comers. I no longer care if the dead and dying pile up like cordwood outside ERs. I am sick and tired of paying their bills. Last year I had a $57,000 hospital bill but my insurance company allowed only $18,000, of which I paid $5,000. What was the other $35,000 for? Other people's unpaid bills being shifted on to mine in a sneaky "tax" voted on not by the voters, not by their elected representatives but by a bunch of hospital bookkeepers. Makes me want to bury Boston Harbor in tea.

This coming from some redneck southerner who has and will have the best medical plan that most Americans don't get just because he is a congressman for the rest of his life!

Just when you think it can't get worse it does.

This administration is a joke to say the least. Watergate was a picnic compared to all the scandals of these people.

Oh yes, breaking into the headquarters of another party, maintaining enemies list, etc: oh yes, the parallels are there, alright. Of course, Obama still has to engage in an arms-for hostages swap, destroy some Savings and Loans and have a sibling involved in that, was well to invade several more countries with fixed intelligence, eliminating a budget surplus and push for tax cuts in wartime, give no-bid contracts to Joe Biden's cronies sot hey get wealthy....man, he has his work cut out for him. Compare those gems with understaffed IRS workers trying to process applciations from groups that don't believe in paying taxes anyway, and screwing that up, as well as the consequences of the House GOP refusing to fully fund security for embassies, and there you have it. Oh my, they are corrupt, a regular banana republic. Geez, I don't know how we could have missed these obvious parallels. Now, remind us again: how long have you been suffering from CILD ( Conservative Intellectual Laziness Disorder)? The good thing is that its covered under the ACA, and all it involves is reading: we can even set you up with a tutor.

    "OFA, moveon... why?"

There's no "gotcha" to be had here. ALL of them should be subject to far tighter scrutiny. What will be telling is who actually throws the biggest hissy fit trying to obstruct that from happening.

" shifted on to mine in a sneaky "tax" voted on not by the voters, not by their elected representatives but by a bunch of hospital bookkeepers."

That's not a "tax." Not even remotely. It's not levied by the gov't in any way, shape or form. What you're complaining about is called "that free market corporation just set it's prices to cover the losses it suffers on services that don't get reimbursed because we don't force everyone to be insured in some manner." It's a direct result of having a for-profit "free market" health care system and allowing things like adverse selection to run rampant solely so insurance companies can reduce the risk of having to actually pay for services (i.e., inflate their profits) by doing things excluding all people likely to need services in the first place.

Boomer , the reason you pay so much is not because your paying the medical bills for others.

It's so my brother in Law could retire from selling medical insurance at 55 , play golf at the Olympic club 4 days a week and spend 6 months a year on vacations in Europe or Hawaii , the remainder of the time relaxing at his beach house.

He will be the first to admit , he couldn't get away with what he used to do under the Affordable Health Care Act.

However he is doing consulting on how to get around it.

Unfortunately , both of his children can't afford medical insurance.

Public education fail. Sigh. You clearly know nothing of history. It's just in one ear and out your mouth for you, isn't it? Can we try an experiment and sit you in front of, say, a 12 hour marathon of Soul Train and see if you come away talking jive?

That's a GREAT idea, no matter what is the political affiliation/spectrum that a 501(c) (3 or 4) organizitions advocates/engages in, the IRS will be FORCED to check into it.
Oh, wait, they ALREADY do it, don't they?
Fine by me and you Sniffit, but what about you 'Fair'?

  12. The REAL Truth...

@just askin – did ofa have to provide their donor list to the irs?
    ---------------------------
Do you right wingers EVER do your own research or rely entirely on that bastion of independent reporting – Fux news propaganda? It's simple. OFA is a registered and approved 501(c)(4) organization. 501(c)(4) organizations are not required to disclose their donors publicly.
In case you missed it, 501(c)(3) orgs are NOT required to report DONORS either, and that was the kind of tax-exempt status they were applying for.
    Please educate yourself.
