Carney brushes off Issa remark

(CNN) – White House Press Secretary Jay Carney refused to take the bait Monday, declining to respond to Rep. Darrell Issa's scathing blow in which the Republican congressman called Carney a "paid liar."

"I'm not going to get into a back-and-forth with Chairman Issa," Carney said, laughing it off at the daily press briefing.

He then pivoted away from the controversial remark to say the White House is focused on finding all the facts in the Internal Revenue Service scandal.

Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union," Issa said Carney was a "paid liar" for the administration for repeating in press briefings the IRS' explanation of how conservative and tea party groups faced scrutiny in their tax exempt applications.

The IRS has attributed fault to the Cincinnati office, where the tax-exempt division is based.

"When I spoke about the situation, I was referring to the findings of the independent inspector general," Carney said Monday.

Robert Gibbs, Carney's predecessor at the White House, called on Issa to apologize earlier Monday on MSNBC. Asked if he wants an apology, Carney said he appreciates "those who have spoken in my defense" but maintained that he's not going to engage the Issa story.

"I am interested in what the president is interested in in this matter, which is we take action to ensure that this activity doesn't happen again, he said. "Those are the things that matter here."

Hey Issa, what about Benghazi? I thought Benghazi was the one that was gonna down this Admin? Another witch hunt paid by the tax payers. Issa must not liked what the former ambassador Pickering told him last week in the closed door meeting, which i might add should have been open to the public to see. Issa is a hypocrite he only has interviews to the public when it going ion his favor.

The paid liar for Obama brushes off Obama's remark or Issa calling him a paid liar? This guy is a sad individual.
DOUGLAS SHULMAN, who ran the IRS when it was targeting conservative groups, is married to a senior adviser for a powerful left-leaning organization trying to limit the political influence of the wealthiest Americans — specifically, the top 1 percent — even promoting 'Occupy DC' events to do so.
Notice how CNN does not report the real news.

Carney said, in his briefing today, that by EVERY measure healthcare costs have gone down. He is a liar. My premium has gone up by more than 30% since this whole debacle started and my agent says my health insurance premium will go from 12k to 30k+ by the time the whole program gets implemented. But, I am just an average citizen who is not poor enough to qualify for subsidies and, as an average citizen, I guess my "measurable" simply does not matter. I swear politicians pee on your leg and tell you its raining and they talk like no one is listening.

They do but it is a tough sell in a country where government freebies, bribes and dependence are valued more than a strong economy and a job. And then when the LSM colludes with the Democrat Party to lie and withold information from the American people that is damaging to their candidate, you get what you have now, a corrupt administration lying and spinning to save their skin once the truth comes out.

But hey, Americans voted for this fiasco so I hope they enjoy what they got. But I must thank Obama for one thing. He has proven far better than any conservative could have, just how ugly, wasteful and dangerous big government can be. Unfortunately, we are doomed to another 3.5 years of this nightmare.

Yeah yeah, we know...you're desperate to manufacture a reason, any reason, why the GOP/Teatrolls lost the 2012 election other than having to admit it's because the vast and growing majority of the public has rejected your ideology, your policy platform and your racist, bigoted behavior. Fail to change at your own peril.

Funny how Jay Carney is actually a Carney for Obuma's circus. Obama is the biggest liar and sham in American history. If Obuma passes some new mental health legislation, his entire voting base would be disqualified. The Communist in chief is the most ignorant, and to quote Bill Clinton "Inexperienced amateur' not qualified to be president, and 'Has no idea how the world works' Let's hope that Congress overruns the Executive branch so we can oust this amateur monkey clown. It is now time for a revolution.

    " a powerful left-leaning organization"

That few people have heard of. Trust to Breitbart to fabricate a conspiracy theory without any evidence. Would you like to talk about Clarence Thomas' wife's pecuniary interests in groups that opposed the ACA and how he failed to recuse himself from that case?

Wade, we've heard that already.....So now we should look into the spouses of folks? Better watch out for that slippery slope. You have a conservative SC justice who's wife worked for a organization dedicated to ending Obamacare. Should he recuse himself?

And you just proved my point that conservatives are incapable of projecting a positive vision of what they would do by regurgitating yet another word salad chocked full of hate. Have ratings by independents swing your way and stayed there, by some other polling group than Gallup or Rassmussen? Nope, did not think so. Insulting those who voted for the president hardly makes your case, either. And as far as bribes are concerned, the tax cuts for the wealthy were just another bribe from the Right to " reward" success, as well as their oft-stated goals with regards to social policy, education, etc; when you go through item after item, the Right consistently uses language and means that repell people. If people accepted your case and your methods, the GOP would have run the tables last November, but they did not. People want a strong economy and a job that will be there in 5 years without it being sent overseas, and your side not only won't try to set up conditions to bring stability, they want everything to be as unstable as possible so they can gain a short-term tactical, political advantage as opposed to trying to build something positive. You embrace instability to win a few lousy seats in Congress, and you lose the country in the process. But hey, if that's your choice, you will go the way of the Whigs and the Populists.

"Carney said, in his briefing today, that by EVERY measure healthcare costs have gone down. He is a liar."

    1. He is correct and the numbers show it.

    2. Your premiums have continued to go up because most of the ACA provisions designed to control costs do not go into effect until 2014. They were going up like that before too. Know what that means? It means you can't blame it on the ACA.

    3. Your agent sells health insurance. He is not an expert on health care systems and health care policy. He is a SALESMAN.

    4. The ACA contains this neato provision that requires insurers to spend at least 80% of the premiums collected on actual health care services. They must refund premiums collected that exceed that. That provision resulted in $1.1B in rebate checks being sent out last year...so they can try to milk you all they want and try all they want to use the ACA as their excuse, but they end up having to give the money back in the end.

" why the GOP/Teatrolls lost the 2012 election other than having to admit it's because the vast and growing majority of the public has rejected your ideology, "

I wish that was all there was to it, but you can't ignore the fact that having a black man running got a lot of Blacks fired up enough to vote who wouldn't otherwise have voted. I live and vote in a area about 90% Black, and the turnout was much higher in '08 and '12. No lines in 2010; lines around the building in '08 and '12.

Georgia would probably have a Democrat for governor if Blacks had showed up in '10.

And what are the Dems going to do in '14, or even '16, to get a large turnout? That's going to be a real problem. It's as much about voter turnout as it is ideology. And the right-wing propaganda machine (RWPM?) IS POWERFUL.
