Bachmann: 2016 is not off the table

(CNN) – Rep. Michele Bachmann, who announced last week she won't seek re-election next year, says she may run for elected office again one day and is not ruling out another presidential bid.

But the Minnesota Republican said her future career in politics is not her top priority at the moment.

"I'm not retiring, I'm not going silent, I'm not quitting my public involvement," she said late Thursday night on Fox News' "Hannity." "In fact I may run for another public office. That could happen. But for right now I'm going to find a different perch in order to be able to weigh in on these matters."

While she said she didn't have a specific plan as of now, she is "wide open and looking."

Discussing her reason for leaving Congress, the fourth term representative said she will have served about the same amount of time as a president would serve–eight years. "And I do think that this is a body that needs to have continual turnover."

Bachmann ticked off a list of what she considers her accomplishments on Capitol Hill and in the tea party movement. Asked about a potential 2016 bid for the White House, Bachmann said "I'm not taking anything off of the table."

"But certainly that's not my number one item that I'm looking at right now," the 2012 GOP presidential candidate said. "I'm in the game for the long haul."

She was not asked about a recent congressional ethics inquiry into the improper transfer of campaign funds. However, Bachmann said last week that was not part of her decision to leave.

What untreatable psychopathology do Bachman, Khadaffi and Hitler have in common?
    Answer: personality disorder

That these characters had a pubic following speaks to the societal toxicity of this type of illness.

I hope she doesn't run. If she does, t will just be a distraction from the serious candidates that don't spout nonsense in an interview every few days.

It wasn't part of her decision t leave. It was the ONLY reason that she is leaving. She stole money and doesn't want to be investigated.

Please do run Michelle. You continue to make your party look stupid. Sometimes people need to be reminded of what they could be voting for, stupid is what stupid is. Thank you for being that shining example.

Yeah Bachman, about those accomplishments... really, y'see, YOU aren't the one to reel off that list. Leave that project to someone who isn't delusional about themselves and reality, like you obviously are.

This CRAZY "lady," (& I use the term loosely) is just pretending so she can stay relevant & keep the $ flowing, much like the Alaskan Moose "lady" did. And BIG AL, you must be kidding, right, about America loving Michele!!? I am sure you were just being sarcastic...

LOL – Another waste of how many million dollars if she runs ? No lessons learned here that’s for sure. The GOP Tea Party is falling apart at the seams and the only electable Republican is being ousted by his own party. They, themselves will be the cause of their own demise. Might as well throw some more money away and have Romney and Ryan or Palin and McCain run again. Acrually why dont they just save some money and have the head of the NRA run, he controls the GOP Tea Party anyway. Limbaugh can be vice president.

EIGHT years in the Congress and she had no bills! And now she may consider the presidency? I was prepared for a NEW clown car class of Repubs in 2016 but it looks like some of the old clown class is still hanging on.

Sorry to read she has no plans to retire from the political front. Classic case of a person who is too stupid to realize that every time she opens her mouth she sounds and looks more harebrained than ever. Maybe the media should do everyone a "Good Deed" and just quit interviewing her.
