Will U.S. arm Syrian rebels? White House to discuss it this week

Jerusalem (CNN) - Obama administration officials confirm there will be White House meetings this week on Syria, where discussion of possibly sending lethal weapons to Syrian rebels will be on the agenda.

The officials stressed no final decisions have been made, although they said President Barack Obama was inching closer to signing off on arming moderate rebel units that had been vetted.

Stay out of it!!! I'm not down for arming our enemies. I don't care how well vetted the opposition is. The weapons we supply then will eventually fall into the wrong hands. Let the kill themselves off.

What they WILL do, and what they SHOULD do, are likely 2 entirely different things.

I think that it would be a bad idea. If you really want to arm the rebels, then SELL the arms to the Arab League and let them distribute them.

It is truly amazing that the right wing wants to simply give away hundreds of millions of dollars worth of arms to groups that we know little or nothing about. Yet, this same right wing thinks spending $400 million in domestic food assisatance for mothers with newborn children is excessive and wasteful spending. They would rather expedite killing people in war than fighting a domestic war against hunger. Surprised? I'm not. But, I am still in awe of the astounding hypocrisies coming out of the hyper right wing.

  7. Republicans; the "Not Intended to be Factually Accurate" Party

Those who fail to remember history or doomed to repeat it. Iran [under the Shah], Aghanistan [in the 1980`s Soviet fight].

Short sighted warmongers like McCain won`t be the ones killed when these weapons fall into jihadist hands. America, your sons & daughters will be. Especially when the "Holy Land loving evangelicals make the GOP push for a war to protect Israel from that heightened threat.

Rudy, the type of common sense is exactly what we need, but its not what the gop wants, killing is fine if there is money to be had.. we obviously know nothing near what we should before getting involved, mccains photo op is all the proof you need. rudy, i honestly feel the gop is the biggest threat to our country, pure evil.it is very frustrating to hear people like just sayin trying to con people into thinking the gop cares, and wants whats best for our nation. nothing could be further from the truth.
