Prostitution, drugs alleged in State Department memo

(CNN) – Senior State Department and Diplomatic Security officials may have covered up or stopped investigations of inappropriate or even criminal misconduct by staff, according to an internal memo from the department's Office of the Inspector General.

The timeline surrounding the allegations places the incidents during former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's tenure, opening the possibility that a widening scandal might taint both her record and her possible political aspirations. Clinton has also taken heat for the department's response to the September 2012 attack on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, Libya.

Why is the MSM acting like this is something new? This didn't just happen in the last 5 years. I'm sure it's been going on longer than that. Where's the FAIR & BALANCED reporting?

Given that people were recalled from diplomatic sites and repremeanded, and that there are paper (and e-mail) trails, it hardly seems anything was "covered-up".

Sorry, just the GOP trying to make something happen........and their batting average is REALLY low at the moment.

The left keeps justifying the actions of this administration by saying that past administrations have done the same thing. Two wrongs do not make a right. Obama = No Change. Things are getting worse, not better.

Rather significantly, the "whistleblower" went immediately to Congress with this story. Right into Darrell Issa's arms. Hm, sounds political to me.

Boy, they really don't want her to run, eh?

Liberal administration promises transparency in government. Said administration exposes flaws and culture problems within the government's bureaucracies. Conservatives cry corruption by sitting administration. Did I miss anything?

No, two wrongs do not make a right. But, not making it right is a wrong. The People were promised greater transparency, which exposes unproductive cultures within some government bureaucracies but nothing criminal. Mostly people behaving badly or poorly. Most of the problems are with career employees, not political appointees.

The other side cries corruption, when their side had done nothing to correct during their own time at the top.

Just like the so called "whistleblowers" in the "False and Frivilous" scandal. The key players carrying out the crimes were in fact the "whistleblowers" themselves.

The problem is, it is not "said administration," that is exposing the flaws and culture problems within the government's bureaucracies.

Why is that a "problem"? And just what exactly is "the problem"?

I see a whole lot of conclusory statements by the author of this article and yet no backup provided to bolster them. "Journalism" at its finest: "well, we just accept any accusations as true unless/until they're proven wrong....and it's everyone else's job to do that, not ours"

    lol @Rudy, Dominican and Sniffit

You guys are losing it. It's pretty funny to see each of you scramble for excuses and rationalizations as this administration proves it is no different from any other administration. Just a bunch of power hungry corrupt individuals. Nothing more, nothing less.

You're right about the whistleblowers, Rudy.

Look, I'm willing to tweak this quite centrist president from the Left; I'm not a blind team player. But every one of these scandals stink like partisan wind from the Right. I think we've reached boy-who-cried-wolf syndrome. Thankfully, most Americans sense this and are demanding that our so-called leaders GET TO WORK.

Meanwhile, what's next? Vince Foster, for old times' sake?

Were some of these employees Americans or civilians like in Benghazi and other foriegn countrys because its cheaper in the light of recent cuts in defense and other programs..The media seems to be going out of their way recently to shine a negetive light on this administration with Hillary Clinton,Pres.Obama along with Eric Holder because of Holder and the DOJ investigating rumors of buying or collaberating in getting classified Intel that could put America and its citizens at risk like the recent leaks by Snowden a past employee of BOOZ..Is this just a pay back from the media because of them being shown in a negetive way like Rupert Murdochs FOX Network in Britain buying classified intel from rogue government employees and found guilty with many a reporter resigning or seeing jail time for their involvements in collecting classified Intel there...Let's quit this charade of being patriotic and get to work because many of these and obviously more was done under this countrys past administration and quess what nothing was done about it was it hypocrites just swept under the rug hoping no one especially in the next administration doesn't dig it up like Pres.Obama did!!
