CNN poll: Obama numbers plunge into generation gap

Washington (CNN) - It's a glaring number in a national poll that's making headlines.

President Barack Obama's approval rating dropped 8 percentage points over the past month to 45%, the president's lowest rating in more than 18 months, according to a CNN/ORC International survey released on Monday.

And Obama's disapproval rating soared 9 points to 54% since mid-May.

Citizens failed? Here in NYC we teach folks "If you see something, say something." But, sometimes it's all to easy to get stuck between a rock and a hard place

But a woman in the FBI DID say something! Coleen Rowley ring a bell?! FBI dropped the ball big time. It must have not been politically correct to suspect and report muslims. That would have been profiling right?

Citizens failed? Here in NYC we teach folks "If you see something, say something." But, sometimes it's all to easy to get stuck between a rock and a hard place. Take the Jared Loughner dude, the one who shot Gabby Giffords. The one with the scary look in his eyes.. They say that he bought his gun two weeks prior to, and bought his ammo just the day before. Had he come into your store, I doubt if very many of you would have told him "No. I will not sell you ammunition because you look like you're a little crazy."
    -------------
    1. When were folks taught "if you see something, say something" was that before or after 911?
    2. Flight instructors did not tell when the highjackers wanted to learn how to pilot a plane while in flight but did not care to be taught how to take off and land.
    3. Your fairy tale about me not selling ammo to somebody who looks crazy is just that a fairy tale, as I don't sell ammo. On the other hand, the example I gave is based upon info on the highjackers after 911.
So yes, citizens failed as well.

As an ex-hippy, let me just tell the young folks, life ain't perfect. If you get 1/2 of what you strive fro, consider yourself lucky. Do what you can, then pass the baton off to the next guys in the race.

    Obama ... came too soon

You are aware that when he came along, we were loosing 800,000 jobs a month? That GDP was in the NEGATIVE 7% to 8% range?

And that the repubs measures to fix these problems are similar to the the methods used by the Europeans, who have yet to see ANY recovery??

You are aware that Obama has done much to fix the economy while the repubs have done all they can to stop him??

As to his methods to protect us against our enemies, we wouldn't have so many enemies if we didn't try to run the world.

I don't approve of all our President does, but he's the best choice we have had in a long time.

Are these polls from the same people that told us that Romney had the 2012 presidential election in the bag?
I mean, I hate to bust your bubble folks but you were salivating and wetting yourselves back in November behind these polls. Some of you lost A LOT of money based on those polls; some of you are still on meds because of those polls, so..... ease up, relax, and REMEMBER!
    Who's still President?
    WHO???
That's right Barack Hussein Obama that's who!
    LOL!!!!

And as we all know, POTUS approval number polling always generates a result that is permanent and etched in stone lol. Dude could be at 60% or even lower in 3 months and either way we'll be watching puffed-up bobbleheaded pundits pontificating about why their predictions right now based on this one poll were correct. Sure, it's not great news for us "libs," but if the GOP/Teatrolls think it's set in stone or indicates that their nontroversy manufacture has averted their demographic Armageddon, then I just hope to be around to see their faces when that gets proven wrong.

Love the selective reporting CNN. Love it.

“Do you think the Obama administration has gone too far, has been about right, or has not gone far enough in restricting people’s civil liberties in order to fight terrorism?”

    Too far: 43%
    About right: 38%
    Not far enough: 17%

Separating out younger voters, they say:

    Too far: 42%
    About right: 41%
    Not far enough: 16%

“Do you think the Obama administration was right or wrong in gathering and analyzing that internet data? “

    Right: 66%
    Wrong: 33%

    Separating out younger voters:

    Right: 61%
    Wrong: 39%

Wow. Turn up your snark-o-meter. She was laughing because she's well aware that his "approval" rating doesn't matter for diddly because he doesn't have to run for office ever again. And if you think the GOP/Teatrolls aren't manufacturing all this nontroversy "scandal" crap and trying to pretend, for example, that the NSA programs are "new" and all Obama's fault or that the IRS thing went straight to Obama's desk and was ordered by him directly, etc...that all of that isn't specifically designed to help the GOP/Teatrolls in 2014's elections, then I've got a moon colony condominium to sell you. The GOP/Teatrolls' behavior for the past 5 years has been solely oriented on election politics and has had absolutely nothing to do with governing this country or solving problems. Where's their economic/jobs legislation package? Where? How many times have they symbolically voted to repeal or defund the ACA? Why are we watching them waste time on votes to restrict abortion and contraception access while they pass nothing on the economy and jobs? How many filibusters have they held to prevent appointments or legislation and by how many does it set the new records? The list of proof is endless that the only thing the GOP/Teatrolls are concerned about is trying to destroy Obama for their own benefit....not to mention their hopes that hampering economic recovery and continuing the 'Murikan peoples' suffering will give them something to blame on him.

Oh honestly Rudy! Ho wmuch stuff can you possibly make up in one day?! A lowly FBI field agent doesn't report to the "executive branch" and certainly not to Congress. She reports up through her chain of command and you have no idea whether those people were liberals or conservatives. But we all know that , so why do you lie and make this stuff up? All it does is destroy what little credibility you have left. You and Obama are very similar in that respect.

"So why don't you tell us who produces and sells postage stamps? Here's a hint. It's not private industry. Government produces lots of things, but many of them are not for sale. For example, space shuttles."
    ------–
The government doesn't produce space shuttles – private industry produces them and sells them to government. The federal government produces NOTHING. They are nothing but a drain on the economy, and the bigger the government is, the bigger the drain on the economy they become.

What does it matter if she was liberal or not? She was an FBI agent, they don't make policy, they enforce it! . For your info, she was a republican while an FBI agent but switched parties when she entered politics, Glad I researched for myself because you did not tell the whole story!

I know Obama meant well for America. He has equally the solutions for US economic & political problems. But he undoing is that he has allowed the Repubs to effectively erect barriers to solving these problems by gridlocks & manufacture of artificial distractive forces like Benghazi, IRS, etc to derail his programs. Like Palin said 'Time is Wasting'. Obama must counteract these activities of the Repubs, if he hopes to push his programs across .......so far, he doesnt seem to know the formula & the highly sensitive/volatile US public opinion is not helping matters.

No, Fair. Government designed the space shuttles and paid for all of the private R&D that goes into the space program. Private industry is sometimes allowed to reap profits from the results of the GOVERNEMENT FUNDED research. One well known example is Pyrex heat resistant glass. Others include microwave ovens, computers on a single chip, Kevlar, and other materials and products.

Even the media has benefited from government funded research. Those fancy, storm tracking Doppler radar displays that you see on the news every day are a direct result of research into a radar system mounted in the nose of the space shuttle to detect wind shears in the upper atmosphere during re-entry. The system on the shuttles used higher resolution, but what you see on the weather reports is a result of a need for a second form of measurement to confirm or deny readings from the hi-res radar.

    3. You keep saying this. Please link your fairy tale ammo story to flight instructors who "looked the other way for money". I am saying how usual is it to teach somebody how to fly without teaching them how to takeoff and land?

I am very much aware of the first WCT attack in NYC, that happened on Clinton's watch, as did the USS Cole and embassies in Africa.

I've been curious about this for some time now: What is it with the right wingers on this thread and the various names that they all post under? Is it to match their multiple personalities or do they get more than one check for blogging under different names even though they are one and the same person. Or maybe it is their way of making it seem like there are wayyyy more of them than there really are.
Which is it then tom I., aka independent, and quite possibly aka just askin (which would mean that you're responding to your own posts, pathetic as that sounds)?

Crazy looking people buying ammo IS NOT unusual! If I did what you keep suggesting, you'll be the first to holler how I am profiling crazy looking people. Not to PC now is it? You'd be the first to march for their civil rights!

One problem Rudy, ALL of us would think people who we hear asking to learn to fly without wanting to learn how to land and takeoff to be strange.

So now Rudy, please define a "CRAZY LOOKING PERSON"" as I need to know who to tell on when I see them buying ammo!.
