    @Dominican,
    Are you really ok with something like this? You would be perfectly comfortable with George Bush doing this? There is no way you can feel good about this. What happens if Jeb Bush is our next president? Goodness gracious.

    We have been using them on the border with Mexico for years , so yes they would be used in the US.

    I would be happy if we took out some meth smugglers with rockets .

    Meth is a drug of terror , those that make , import , sell are TERRORISTS !

    @Sniffit,
    I believe I have read that you're a lawyer. Now I know why you use so many 25 cent words in your comments.

    This story has to bother you. I said earlier, what if the next president is Jeb Bush? Or any republican, for that matter. There is no way you can support something like this.

    Oh, please. Is he "concerned" that:
    1. Montogomery Co, TX police department bought a helicopter drone, paid $300,000 for it using Homeland Security
    money to "track criminals"?
    2. The Defense Department has built "villages" at Ft. Bragg, NC, Ft. Drum, NY and Ft. Hood, Tx to use as
    "practice targets" for drone training? see: insidedefense.com

    Rand Paul thinks its OK to use a drone on a liquor store thief, running down an American street, carrying
    $50 of stolen money.

    I'm concerned that our elected officials don't know what's going on, and apprently they don't care.
    But they can get all righteous when the truth comes out.
    I'm ashamed they didn't know, and they should be ashamed too.

    How do we make sure that those drones are not abused to harass political opponents or hijacked by terrorist to commit crimes? Is not just the other day we read in the news that someone had taken over a planes cockpit operations through cell phone app?

    Drones as long as unarmed ( over US territory) are simply a more up to date version of surveillance satellites that have been around for years, capable of reading car number plates or the brand of cigarettes I smoke. I stopped , to big a health risk just like this guys inane comments.
    And Dear Mr Grassley if you are concerned about our FBI using drones in crime investigation. I suggest you get a computer geek to amaze you with Google earth, and how that could help Terrorists target you very effectively.
    CNN you call this guys crass remarks "news and worthy of blogging" without even sensible comment from your reporter.
    Grow up.... stop trying to make the ........ connecting the dots, non existent connections re big government on issues that are not so connected.
    Regards,
    Hodgson.
