Anna Wintour boosts Hillary Clinton for 2016

(CNN) – Hillary Clinton, a self-described "pantsuit aficionado," got some ringing praise from perhaps the fashion industry's biggest voice.

Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour expressed support for the former secretary of state and her potential presidential bid at an event Monday for designer Oscar de la Renta.

"I can only hope that all of you here in Little Rock will be celebrating her come November 2016," Wintour said, according to CNN affiliate KARK.

"Just as all of us, all of us at Vogue, look forward to putting on the cover the first female president of the United States," she continued, as she introduced the former first lady and U.S. senator from New York.

Hillary Clinton, widely considered the potential Democratic favorite in 2016, has not said whether she plans to launch another White House bid.

For her part, Wintour has become more of a political power player in recent years and became a major fundraiser for both of President Barack Obama's presidential campaigns. Her ties to Obama sparked rumors that she was up for a potential ambassadorship, but CNN did not confirm those reports and she remains in her top post at the magazine.

The Oscar de la Renta reception, held at the William J. Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock, displayed several of the designer's famous pieces, including the teal pantsuit Clinton wore when first being sworn-in as U.S. senator in 2001.

De la Renta, 80, also designed Clinton's dress for one of her husband's inaugurations, as well as for a 1998 Vogue photoshoot–the first time a first lady appeared on the magazine's cover page.

The Clintons have remained close with de la Renta ever since, and the designer has been the mastermind behind many of Hillary Clinton's suits and gowns during her public service career.

"I never got to wear one of his dresses," former President Bill Clinton said. "But I have every day for many years worn the mantle of his friendship."

Last month, Hillary Clinton honored de la Renta at the annual Council of Fashion Designers of America award ceremony at New York's Lincoln Center, where she jokingly pitched a show idea for Bravo: "Project Pantsuit."

She again offered more praise for the famed designer on Monday.

"It's not for me just about the clothes, although they're really spectacular, it's about what it means, the continuous effort to be as good as you can be," Clinton said.

A number or celebrities attended the event, including Barbara Walters and former Vogue contributing editor Andre Leon Talley.

"I am overwhelmed at the fact that my very first retrospective happened to be at the President Clinton Library," de la Renta said.

Clinton was also in Little Rock Monday to attend the dedication of a new children's library named in her honor.

How is this newsworthy in any way? Just another disgusting attempt by CNN to push Hillary. We don't want her.

Hillary Clinton is highly trained in how to maneuver within the law and in how to manipulate people in order to get what she wants, but when it comes to a true knowledge of history and a sufficient world view to properly govern a nation, she is extremely ignorant and completely incompetent. She is nothing more than a liberal-activist media darling who somehow managed to worm her way through law school and into office. In fact, her husband started by running for the Arkansas Attorney General, and was unopposed. I'm sure he looked for that one. Then he wormed his way into the governor's chair – as well as a few state employees’ pants – and then used con-artistry to lie his way into the White House. Finally, Hillary ran for the Senate in the only possible state in which she could have won; New York. (That's why they called her the "carpet bagging B___." She is a great political schemer but she is also woefully ignorant, evil and a total menace to society.

Bubba's more popular than ever and many Americans would vote Hillary in just to have Bubba back. All the smoke and mirrors Benghazi crap (no CONVICTIONS) is just that and we the people are tired of the GOP no ideas just smear and hate campaign.

    CLINTON 2016!!
    -----------
    1. To get "Bubba" back in the White House is a reason to vote for her?
    2. Why would there be any convictions when there have been no trials?

It is like 2008 all over again. Everyone loves Hillary, everyone supports Hillary, but they voted for Obama in the end. Democrats always seem to select the unknown candidate in the past 30 years. Carter, (Bill) Clinton, Dukakis and Obama were all unknowns by the majority of the country when they ran for President.

As if Anna Wintour would support anybody else in the first place. This means nothing new or of additional value as it was and is expected.

Hilary Clinton is not presidential material. She uses men to get to where she is, and then claims she's for women's rights! And on top of it, she takes abuse from them! Not a woman I respect – and not the first woman who should lead the free world (if it's still free by then – after Obama does his damage to it). My vote would be for Condoleeza Rice or Liz Cheney.

...and that's not even talking about the Benghazi total catastrophe and tragedy that she was a HUGE part of – and then lied about – and defamed the murdered men by saying "what difference does it make?" how they died???

Just another example of what our Democracy has become. Who can get the biggest stars on their side. Is this really important. How does this help our country get through these very troubling times? This is all so very tiresome.

The Clinton News Network already out of the gate trying to get the Moroni formerly known as Hillary elected. I'm going to laugh so hard whenn she doesn't even get the nomination... AGAIN. Your 15 minutes are up Moron. I expect CNN will be bankrupt and bought by Fox News by then anyway.

Old white rich elite males have endorsed old white rich elite males since the birth of this nation.
One successful woman endorses another and the haters come out in force... wow.

No wonder Republicans lost the minority vote, and soon the women as well.
And guess what? No one cares about Benghazi. Seriously. 4 U.S. citizen's died. I feel sorry for their families.. but the extent that Republicans used those deaths for political mudslinger, while glossing over the fact that GWB's incompetence lead to 3000k citizens, and 4000k troops is simply astounding. Those people in Benghazi knew the hostility levels in that region and the intelligent thing would have been to get the heck out of dodge. But hey, blame Hillary if thats what makes you think it will make any of your clowns look better...
