Thank you Texas – just continue to be yourselves and drive votes over to the Democrats. Thank you again Gov Perry but best reason to vote Democrat in the U.S. today:)

You shoot a pregnant woman, no matter how many months along, she lives – the baby dies, you're arrested for murder. The pregnant woman has an abortion, she gets a pass. Why is that? Please don't use choice in your answer. That has nothing to do with my question.

The issue in not abortion. GOP doesn't care about babies at all. The issue is who controls your body. Male or Female doesn't matter. Do you or the government control your body? Also remember that what a government can forbid it can require. It is the same legal power. Once that power is given to the government it WILL BE USED. I bet the people of China would never have believed their government would force abortions. I can think of any number or types of people the GOP would deem undesirable. History does tend to repeat itself and usually not for the good. We must stand up for our rights or we will lose them. Just think of how the government could legally force the castration of men who don't pay their child support or women on welfare with too many babies. It's the same legal power people. Government isn't responsible enough to be given that much power.

The GOP will continue this assault and their march toward theocracy and it will be their undoing. If you don't want an abortion and don't believe they are in keeping with your faith, then don't have one. Let others also chart their own course of conscious.

It also is very odd that the Right will fight tooth and nail, and in defiance of Roe .v. Wade, for a child to be born and then kick it straight to the curb and label it a "welfare mooch" the moment it is born into a poor family. Pro-life, apparently, does not cover adults or foreigners, either. I guess they aren't as "sacred". Texas has executed more than any state and you hear know complaints about the US war machine. Seems hypocritical to me.

You Liberals are such hyopcrites as well!
Niether party believes in freedom. Only true Libertarians understand freedom.
"They're always trying to force their deviant views and lifestyle on the rest of us normal people. They love telling other people how to live their lives." Sort of like Dems trying to control our right to own firearms, just saying, it sounds strangely familiar...
    Think about it.

Just one more way that government pushes their own moral judgements upon it's people. Did they miss the whole Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision? This is going to be struck down, just like all the other abortion laws.

Actually, in the Hebrew that word is NOT kill but MURDER. So no, war is not murder, the death penality is not murder, and denying health care is not murder. Problem is health care is NOT denied, that is why folk flock to ERs.

Does science tell us that a fetus is human? Undeniably yes! Anyone who says it’s just a blob of cells is not dealing in rational thought or reality. So the next question is as a society do we think the all humans are equal? The answer is undeniably no! Past and current history shows us that. Women didn’t have the right to vote, blacks didn’t have the right to be free, and now human fetuses don’t have the right to live. Who has the right to blur that line that gives humans the right of personhood? What politician, judge, mother, father, or human gets to say you have the rights of a person and you do not? I always hear people say, “it’s the mothers right to choose!” Choose what?! I mean what are we talking about? So my answer is no. The mother does not have the right to choose if her infant should be able to live and enjoy the rights of personhood. There is nothing progressive about abortion and I hope and pray that those who fight for it realize that they are on the wrong side of the fight. Real progressiveness is all inclusive and recognizing human dignity at all stages of life of all races of people.

Yep, because nothing says "freedom" like government-forced birth.

The GOP War on Women is very real. Bring on 2014.

WTH are you babbling about. First of all, if the Republicans were concerned about saving lives, they would not vote against everything that is proposed to insure that children that are already born have adquate health care, nutrition and education. Secondly, have a look at the states that suck the hardest from the government teat they are mostly red states. Thirdly, what are you doing posting on the internet when you are supposed to be working, or are you taking a break from your daytime TV? LOL

If a woman can not make up her mind within 12 weeks of being pregnant to have an abortion...she does not deserve to be pregant or ever give birth again. 12 weeks is plenty of time to decide what to do.....

Keep on beating people over the head with that religous ignorance and see where it gets you. Never get another republican president, slowly loose republican members of the house and senate (both local & National), It's just a matter of time. The party will split into the crazy right and moderates. tick, tock :-)

The right-wingers who want to stop abortions should make sure 1. Birth control is available; 2. Social programs are in place for both child and mother; 3. The father is required to do his part, esp. financially; 4. Adoption is made easy for those families who want to; 5. Keep clinics nearby to provide for poor women who can't just take a drive to the city. Let's agree to be 'pro-prevention'.

Fred, you forgot to mention Adam and Eve, a virgin birth, walking on water, a talking snake, an invisible god, a burning bush that handed out engraved stone tablets, returning from the dead.
I don't get how you can believe these fairy tales and turn your nose up at the facts of science. Now that's being ignorant!

For anyone who says abortion is just another medical treatment – have you told any of the children you DO have that they are no more valuble to you than than a mole or cist?
