    Good luck to Ms Napolitano. This is one woman I really do admire. Yes, GOPers. I went there.

    I wonder how long it will take to get a replacement through the Senate. Will the Republicans object because the person isn't perfect?

    Teatrolls rejoice! Another position to filibuster and thereby hamper the effective functioning of the gov't so you can say "see, it's broken!"

    You are sadly correct. The newbie will be just as hated by SOME on the right as Palin is hated by SOME on the left! That is how politics is!

    No need to fillibuster anything if she wasn't a quitter!

    @Steveo,

    Napolitano was hired by the President. Palin was hired by the people of Alaska.

    I don't think Napolitano did a good job as Homeland Security Secretary, but I think she could have done a better job with a different boss. Obama uses his agencies mainly for political purposes and continues to hurt his own cabinet members in the process.

    What difference does it make who hired her? She is NOT finishing her term (she did not get fired) which equals quitter! Good enough for Palin, good enough for Napolitano! Unless we have exposed another yet another double standard

    @Steveo,

    The replacement will be hated by ALL on the Right, let's not kid ourselves into believing otherwise.

    As for Palin, I think most of the hate from the Left towards her comes from the fact that she is just so annoying. Most on the Right find her pretty irritating - and embarrassing - as well. She's like the loud neighbor you're stuck next to who has an ill-informed opinion on everything.

    The first of many to leave the Obama Administration in the coming months. Like a butterfly to the flame – a "lib" going to the Valhalla of the Socialist Left-Wing Spiritual Home of left-wing loonies – California!!!! One problem, slight, but one to consider. How is she going to run the California University System with no money? Folks might conclude "just desserts" for Sect'y Napolitano in trying to make that pig fly with no grease on the runway. Paranoia, frustration, pulling her hair out, and total depression might be a mental state she has only brushed up against in her old job as HS Sect'y. Now that she is dealing with a single party government under Gov. "Moonbeam", and his Legislature that is in total fiscal denial, along with state debt up the gazzooh – she will find out what it like to be on the receiving end of "politics" as usual – California Style!

    ---------

    no, they'll object because it's Obama. They couldn't care less who it is or what position they're looking to fill. As long as Obama has something to do with it, they oppose it.

    Oh poor delusional SteveO trying to compare the half term half wit Palin to someone that FINISHED one term as governor to be re-elected and then chosen for a federal post.
    Comparing someone with a journalism degree to a former AG and full term governor?
    Laughable SteveO, just laughable.

    Please continue to send the Wasilla grifter as much money as you can afford and keep begging her to run for office.

You might want to check the facts before you just start vomiting Faux News/Red State reality-denial talking points you assume to be accurate simply because they fit the cartoonish narrative running in your tinfoil hat encased head.

    So the head of the Department of Homeland Security is going to be the president of the University of California system. Hmmmmm. It looks like this is the proof that the Obama administration is indeed implementing re-education camps. Martial law isn't far behind. Tea anyone?
