Bachmann wants to 'spank' Obama

(CNN) – She tried to run against President Barack Obama as last year's GOP nominee.

But with that dream dashed, Rep. Michele Bachmann has another idea.

"He has a perpetual magic wand, and nobody's given him a spanking yet and taken it out of his hand," the Minnesota Republican told WorldNetDaily. "That's what Congress needs to do. The way we spank the president is we do it through the checkbook."

She was speaking to the conservative website about the ongoing battle over comprehensive immigration reform. The "magic wand" she refers to is the power to implement executive actions, like the one taken by Obama last year to defer deportations of young undocumented immigrants who were brought here by their parents.

A bipartisan immigration reform bill passed the Senate last month that included a pathway to citizenship, which many Republicans, including Bachmann, regard as "amnesty."

As the push for immigration reform slows in the House, Bachmann warned fellow opponents of a pathway to citizenship that resistance in the lower chamber may not hold up under pressure from GOP leaders who she said were sold on an "amnesty bill."

"The only game in town is legalization, for President Obama and for Senate Democrats. They want that legalization status," Bachmann, who will not run for re-election in 2014, said.

She suggested using Congress' ability to allocate funds to reject Obama's priorities, including the Affordable Care Act.

"We have the power of the purse," she said. "The most powerful body in Washington D.C. is the House of Representatives, which I'm honored to be a part. We're the ones that say, 'No, you can't have the money.' What's wrong with us? What is wrong with us that we would give the president ten cents to fund Obamacare?"

What? Sara Palin didn't say anything stupid today so you had to go with Michelle Bachmann? Why does CNN cover these "stories?"

There it is, right out of the horse's mouth:

"We have the power of the purse" – so let's keep obstructing progress, even if it is the law. If children need food
or healthcare, well that's too bad---but don't forget to sign our paychecks. We need to vacation with our
families on taxpayer money – nobody will know if you call it a "fact finding mission", and oh yes, send the
subsidy for my faux farm too.

She's not running because she knows she would lose. Another reason she won't seek reelection is probably negotiating a deal to join Fox news. There is no doubt she is the dumbest person ever elected to Congress

Where was CNN on Nancy Pelosi's quote about Obamacare? "we gotta pass it in order to find out what's in it"

Bachman is a total nut! I wish she was running again so she lose miserably! I would be embarrassed to have her representing my party and would be afraid of what idiotic statement she would make next!

Bachmann diminishes the national Republican brand. FOX news can add to its lack of credibility by pairing her with Palin.

I think that Michelle O would probably have something to say about that. I though thought that Bachman was too ultra conservative to be into S&M. Just goes to show that you never know.

Maybe as an elected member of the House of Representatives (as amazing as that is) perhaps the reason you'd 'give' the money is that it's the LAW of the land.

Mrs. Bachmann, how on earth did you gain a seat in the House of Representatives. You don't ever know what you're talking about, you don't do anything to help anyone but yourself, you would let children be sent away from their parents without blinking an eye, and try to justify it by saying it's amnesty, How did we allow a person like you in Congress?
