Bachmann wants to 'spank' Obama

(CNN) – She tried to run against President Barack Obama as last year's GOP nominee.

But with that dream dashed, Rep. Michele Bachmann has another idea.

"He has a perpetual magic wand, and nobody's given him a spanking yet and taken it out of his hand," the Minnesota Republican told WorldNetDaily. "That's what Congress needs to do. The way we spank the president is we do it through the checkbook."

She was speaking to the conservative website about the ongoing battle over comprehensive immigration reform. The "magic wand" she refers to is the power to implement executive actions, like the one taken by Obama last year to defer deportations of young undocumented immigrants who were brought here by their parents.

A bipartisan immigration reform bill passed the Senate last month that included a pathway to citizenship, which many Republicans, including Bachmann, regard as "amnesty."

As the push for immigration reform slows in the House, Bachmann warned fellow opponents of a pathway to citizenship that resistance in the lower chamber may not hold up under pressure from GOP leaders who she said were sold on an "amnesty bill."

"The only game in town is legalization, for President Obama and for Senate Democrats. They want that legalization status," Bachmann, who will not run for re-election in 2014, said.

She suggested using Congress' ability to allocate funds to reject Obama's priorities, including the Affordable Care Act.

"We have the power of the purse," she said. "The most powerful body in Washington D.C. is the House of Representatives, which I'm honored to be a part. We're the ones that say, 'No, you can't have the money.' What's wrong with us? What is wrong with us that we would give the president ten cents to fund Obamacare?"

what a pathetic moron. biggest monthly federal budget surplus in decades, in spite GOP do-nothings clogging up all legislation in the House. Can a national political figure be any dumber than this woman?

Wait, she thinks that Obama has a magic wand he can wave to make things happen? What world has she been living in? Obama believes that giving a speech is equivalent to doing something about an issue. People stopped listening long ago. Giving a speech on climate change is not the same as doing something about climate change. Giving a speech on Syria, or Snowden, or Egypt is not the same as doing anything about them. Obama is the most neutered president in recent memory (with the notable exception of the NSA, but fore some reason or another, Bachmann doesn't seem to care about that!).

I didn't even bother reading this article. If it has Bachman in it, it is not worth paying attention to this delusional, ego maniac fool. Finding out why CNN even thinks this woman is worthy of a story is the real reason I am posting this comment.

Thank heavens she's not running for office again in 2014...she's been a constant thorn in the side of the Republican/tea party. Time to send the tea party and their nutcases packing...

From an European point of view, such as mine, US politicians like Bachmann are REALLY weird... it's just like someone talking politics in a coffe house, while slightly drunk... is she REALLY an elected person?

When is this daffy woman going to fitted with a canvas jacket with extra long sleeves, for easy wrap-around/tying? If the GOP doesn't want to know known as the party of the insane, they really need to do something about her, and the rest of their food group.

It's like the running back in a football game deciding he didn't like the last call that the quarterback called, so he and the rest of the team are going to stand there with their arms folded the next time the QB takes the snap.

Crawl back under your rock, Michelle ... and keep trying to pray the gay away. She and her hubby need to be investigated for all of the fraud she's pulled ... on her state and on the nation.
