Bachmann wants to 'spank' Obama

(CNN) – She tried to run against President Barack Obama as last year's GOP nominee.

But with that dream dashed, Rep. Michele Bachmann has another idea.

"He has a perpetual magic wand, and nobody's given him a spanking yet and taken it out of his hand," the Minnesota Republican told WorldNetDaily. "That's what Congress needs to do. The way we spank the president is we do it through the checkbook."

She was speaking to the conservative website about the ongoing battle over comprehensive immigration reform. The "magic wand" she refers to is the power to implement executive actions, like the one taken by Obama last year to defer deportations of young undocumented immigrants who were brought here by their parents.

A bipartisan immigration reform bill passed the Senate last month that included a pathway to citizenship, which many Republicans, including Bachmann, regard as "amnesty."

As the push for immigration reform slows in the House, Bachmann warned fellow opponents of a pathway to citizenship that resistance in the lower chamber may not hold up under pressure from GOP leaders who she said were sold on an "amnesty bill."

"The only game in town is legalization, for President Obama and for Senate Democrats. They want that legalization status," Bachmann, who will not run for re-election in 2014, said.

She suggested using Congress' ability to allocate funds to reject Obama's priorities, including the Affordable Care Act.

"We have the power of the purse," she said. "The most powerful body in Washington D.C. is the House of Representatives, which I'm honored to be a part. We're the ones that say, 'No, you can't have the money.' What's wrong with us? What is wrong with us that we would give the president ten cents to fund Obamacare?"

    A) No president has had to endure such ugly and demeaning remarks outside the campaign trail.
    B) What is different about President Obama from all previous presidents?

Not only is this incredibly disrespectful, it also speaks volumes about Michelle and Marcus Bachmann's intimate lives, none of it good.

This board is full of ignorant bashing, for the sake of nothing constructive to accomplish and insulated complaining. It suits our nation as a whole after all in this age. How far we have fallen as a country when this is the national discussion.

    Lynda Minnesota:
As would I. She'll not go down into history as one of Minnesota's finest politicians, that's for sure. I know. I know. Small consolation
I'd be happy if she would just go down and stay down!
In regards to yesterday: we do for each other my friend. You're welcome.

Do these republicans know how to do anything other than to hold the country hostage?

Hey... I should go visit Webster's online, to see if they've updated the definition for "Cutting off your nose to spite your face", they could easily remove a thousand words with one picture of the GOP.

Michelle needs to go on a long vacation to someplace like the Congo, where anarchy rules, no one gets government healthcare, and there are no abortion clinics. With a bit of luck, she will miss her flight back home.

That's right laws you and your Congress have passed as Bills and sent to the President to sign into law. Michelle and her husband and all the Tea Baggers like them put thier hand out for Government dollars in farm subsidies, foster care subsidies, small business subsidies and mega Fed dollars flowing to thier churches, but it's a shame to insure 20 million Americans who otherwise could not afford insurance. Although her ancestors walked right off a boat through Ellis Island and were granted citizenship, she doesn't want US born children to have citizenship or any path for thier parents, who are and will be so grateful and better citizens than most Americans....

Is this raving lunatic back in the news again? . . . and how dare she demean and insult the office of President of the United States. This woman is truly mentally unbalanced, as is her husband and it should be an embarrassment to every American that a bloviating idiot such as Michele Bickerman even got anywhere near our political system. But slime always manages to sneak through.

First of all, we have no one else to blame but the people of Minnesota who voted this poor excuse for a politician in. Now we are surely being looked at by other countries as having a most disrespectful Congress due to her egregious comments on the president. However, one thing good comes from all of this. It shows everyone how some Republicans truly think, how they act, how they do business, and what their fantasies truly are, while millions of people in this country have to suffer and do without due to the Republican stance of severe cut-backs on the basic needed services Americans need to have. That's conservatives for you. Solution? Vote Them ALL Out Next Time Around!!

Can't believe that this very dumb story is still on CNN website. Perhaps CNN should think about what they reproduce and if it is really news. There are over 500 people in Congress and very few are ever given space on this website.

Bachmann, McCain, McConnell, Boehner, Graham, Paul – these are the people who seem to dominate this website. Perhaps it is time for some new people.

There is something seriously wrong with this woman. I think the whole "crazy eyes" talk with that magazine cover hit the nail on the head. This lady is one bag of fries short of a happy meal. Glad she's leaving the Senate...Congress is bad enough as it is without psycho's being there...wellll....let's just say one less is a good thing.

When the Republicans really come to terms with their inexorable slide into electoral irrelevancy, they'll have to acknowledge that they did it to themselves. It's been a forty year skid into the ditch that started with their embrace of Dixiecrats and conservative Christians, with each new batch of "leaders" more clownish and toxic than the one before. My god, I miss that vanished species - the moderate Republican.

What more can be said about Bachmann that has not already been said?

What remains utterly astonishing is that there is a Congressional district in america that would elect, and re-elect, such a creature, and a state and national Party that would support her.

That would be that powerful body consisting of two houses that hasn't
