Bachmann wants to 'spank' Obama

(CNN) – She tried to run against President Barack Obama as last year's GOP nominee.

But with that dream dashed, Rep. Michele Bachmann has another idea.

"He has a perpetual magic wand, and nobody's given him a spanking yet and taken it out of his hand," the Minnesota Republican told WorldNetDaily. "That's what Congress needs to do. The way we spank the president is we do it through the checkbook."

She was speaking to the conservative website about the ongoing battle over comprehensive immigration reform. The "magic wand" she refers to is the power to implement executive actions, like the one taken by Obama last year to defer deportations of young undocumented immigrants who were brought here by their parents.

A bipartisan immigration reform bill passed the Senate last month that included a pathway to citizenship, which many Republicans, including Bachmann, regard as "amnesty."

As the push for immigration reform slows in the House, Bachmann warned fellow opponents of a pathway to citizenship that resistance in the lower chamber may not hold up under pressure from GOP leaders who she said were sold on an "amnesty bill."

"The only game in town is legalization, for President Obama and for Senate Democrats. They want that legalization status," Bachmann, who will not run for re-election in 2014, said.

She suggested using Congress' ability to allocate funds to reject Obama's priorities, including the Affordable Care Act.

"We have the power of the purse," she said. "The most powerful body in Washington D.C. is the House of Representatives, which I'm honored to be a part. We're the ones that say, 'No, you can't have the money.' What's wrong with us? What is wrong with us that we would give the president ten cents to fund Obamacare?"

Who cares what Bachmann has to say anyhow? She is a right-wingnut. And, RS, most of the GOP is not even rational.

    Obama executive orders signed 161

Maybe the stupid representative from Minn. should go back to school for basic math.

She is getting creepier all the time. Also her agenda of simply bringing the President down does nothing to help America.

If that woman raises her arms her face will come unstapled. I suggest she sticks to acting outraged while she enjoys her last few paychecks before she sells the ideals of her party for a nice vacation home on the coast.

We want to elect people more intelligent and more capable than ourselves to work for us in the House of Representatives. In the case of M Bachmann a colossal mistake was made. Glad that she will be gone by the end of next year. Can't wait!

It's interesting that the GOP has gone on and on about how they want to reduce the size of government for years, but they only really want to do it when they percieve it as a way to win political power. The US system has some deep problems right now... and it's not just government spending.

We see why you are quitting job ms bachman, you still havent quite grasped how things work. The House has and will always control the pursestrings. The President only spends what you and the rest of the clown college give him. No be a good little airhead and at least go watch school house rocks so you can get some kind of civics lesson other than republican canned talking points.
