Bachmann wants to 'spank' Obama

(CNN) – She tried to run against President Barack Obama as last year's GOP nominee.

But with that dream dashed, Rep. Michele Bachmann has another idea.

"He has a perpetual magic wand, and nobody's given him a spanking yet and taken it out of his hand," the Minnesota Republican told WorldNetDaily. "That's what Congress needs to do. The way we spank the president is we do it through the checkbook."

She was speaking to the conservative website about the ongoing battle over comprehensive immigration reform. The "magic wand" she refers to is the power to implement executive actions, like the one taken by Obama last year to defer deportations of young undocumented immigrants who were brought here by their parents.

A bipartisan immigration reform bill passed the Senate last month that included a pathway to citizenship, which many Republicans, including Bachmann, regard as "amnesty."

As the push for immigration reform slows in the House, Bachmann warned fellow opponents of a pathway to citizenship that resistance in the lower chamber may not hold up under pressure from GOP leaders who she said were sold on an "amnesty bill."

"The only game in town is legalization, for President Obama and for Senate Democrats. They want that legalization status," Bachmann, who will not run for re-election in 2014, said.

She suggested using Congress' ability to allocate funds to reject Obama's priorities, including the Affordable Care Act.

"We have the power of the purse," she said. "The most powerful body in Washington D.C. is the House of Representatives, which I'm honored to be a part. We're the ones that say, 'No, you can't have the money.' What's wrong with us? What is wrong with us that we would give the president ten cents to fund Obamacare?"

Listen you stupid crazy person. How dare you challenge our President of our country in this manner. I did not agree with many thing George Bush said or did but always acknowledged him as the President of our country and included the respect his office is due. The sooner you are out of politics the better our nation will be. I promise to encourage everyone I know to make sure you will never hold public office again.

Since she isn't running for reelection, her and Palin can have a tv show together. They could join forces to fight against rational thought anywhere. "Palinmann" has a nice ring to it.

I blame the people of Minnesota. What does that say about them to vote in the racist, lying, freak show that is Michelle Bachmann?!

This is the same Michelle Bachmann who claims to have heard "god's" voice telling her to run for political office. Fantastic. The R's should keep fielding people like this so that they can be rejected by the sane majority.

I cringe when I hear Bachmann and people like her say things like this. Do these "has been" politocos have any shame or are they just egomaniacs? Yeah, I know – – I'm preaching to the choir. (sigh)

this nutbar believes its her duty to stop the president from doing his job, simply because she doesnt agree with how he does it.... except it was HIM elected president- not her. No respect for the position, no respect for anyone that doesnt agree with her warped sense of values.

One of the things wrong with this country is that political partisans are so blinded by their own agenda they can't grasp that they are feckin' disrespectful of the highest office of the land.

    He won. GET OVER IT.

Bachman and her ilk are the shining examples of what's wrong with this country. It's not the GOP–it's the far right.

The purse is neither for Bachmann, the Repub grooms, nor Obama/Democrats. The purse is for the American people. When you refuse to release the purse unnecessarily Americans will die, you fool. Slowed businesses, growing unemployment, bad debt management, starvation, political losses, decaying infrastructures, etc, thats what you get when you dont release the purse........its a loss loss game. In otherwords whatever is happening to US adversely today is deliberately caused by the Repubs.....thats what Michele Bachmann is admitting.

Did anyone tell Michele Bachmann that President Obama has been elected to lead the nation twice? Did it ever occur to her that Latinos might not like it if the GOP doesn't pass the immigration bill? Didn't Ronald Reagan, the patron saint of the GOP, sign an amnesty in 1986?

With her as it is with other extremist Republicans, it's about extreme partisan politics with no thought to what it will do to the country. She's a real whack job.

What a complete moron this woman is. She is, without a doubt, one of the worst people on the planet. Virtually every word that spews from her lips is filled with hatred toward anyone and everyone who does not believe as she does. She is a rabid fundamentalist extremist who has tried for years to push her religious bigotry down our throats. The Congress will be a far better place when her invective and hate-mongering are no longer something we have to put up with. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Bachmann speaks for the GOP? They are in a world of hurt. They offend the Hispanics .completely. They offend most of the women. Then wonder why they can't win an election.

It's not good to have to type this, but it has to be typed. Is there any way possible to have this has been, wannabe, taken from all future news stories? Why can't she be treated as irrelevant, as she actually is. She's going no where, and has been no where. She's as interesting as a person who's hobby is watching paint dry. It's not unimaginable that the family pet hides, just to keep from hearing and seeing this cretin.

How did this ignorant woman ever get elected to Congress? She is an embarrassment. Thank goodness she is not running for Congress again. She can now go home and work at the her gay husband's "pray away the gay'clinic.
Wake up America. The more Republicans we get out of Congress the more actual work we can get done for restoring the nation, jobs, infrastructure, education, veterans and ending the destruction of our riights as women, workers, and voters.

The Repugs can't blame the President one minute for all the problems and the next minute admit that congress holds all the power thru the purse strings. Intellectually dishonest to talk out of both sides of their mouth. But it does clarify who is really causing most of the problems with the lack of jobs, the economy, etc- Congress.
