‘Stop Hillary’ group ramps up anti-Clinton efforts

Washington (CNN) - Hillary Clinton may or may not run for president in 2016, but the conservative effort to derail her potential candidacy is already underway.

Iowa poll: Who wins a Clinton-Christie 2016 showdown?

The organizers behind Stop Hillary PAC, a political action committee quietly incorporated in May, are stepping into public view this week as they ramp up their efforts to harangue Clinton as she mulls over her political future.

On Monday, the PAC is announcing its leadership team, steered by Ted Harvey, a conservative Colorado state senator who was a vocal opponent of the recent gun control laws passed in the state.

Also coming on board are Garrett Marquis, a media strategist and alumnus of John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign; Alex Shively, a former aide to Georgia Rep. Tom Price; Jacob Leis, a Colorado-based political strategist; and Dan Backer, a Washington attorney and lobbyist.

Those aren’t the most prominent names in Republican politics, but according to Marquis, that’s just fine. The PAC and its messaging are designed to appeal to grassroots conservatives and low dollar contributors, not traditional big donors.

Put another way, the group wants to be a boisterous party-crasher as the 2016 campaign gets underway, ginning up controversy and online contributions with barbed attacks against Clinton. To start, the PAC is releasing a video later this week “that will get a lot of attention,” Marquis promised.

Former top Obama campaign aides to advise Clinton effort

The organization’s plans to “Stop Hillary” are admittedly scattershot in these early stages of the race. Their portfolio could include “bracketing” events at Clinton appearances around the country, or local TV and radio ads, or social media efforts. If Clinton does decide to run for office, the PAC will be in Iowa and New Hampshire and South Carolina waiting for her.

The point, Marquis said, is “to make noise” wherever Clinton goes.

“We’re supporting anything that is the opposite of Hillary,” he said. “We will play however needed, wherever Hillary is playing. If she endorses in the Virginia governor’s race, we will go there. Assuming she is active in Iowa, we will be there, too, and we will make some considerable noise.”

Clinton opponents plan donor meeting in New York

The group is separate from “Stop Hillary 2016,” a project initiated last month by America Rising, a new opposition research outfit helmed by former Mitt Romney campaign manager Matt Rhoades and a pair of former Republican National Committee officials.

awesome. a bunch of no-names and a mccain hack. this PAC should go really far. by stating that they are against everything hillary does just weakens the zero credibility they have anyway. there's a waste of money if there ever was one. just tell your "supporters" you wanna have a kegger and play circle jerk.

Here we go...republicans can't do anything but force their negativity down our throats. They can't tell you why to vote for them, only why not to vote for democrats, with the reason being that they never do anything themselves except make it illegal to live your life. "opposite of anything Hillary" ... So even if she wanted to do something they agreed with, they would be against it. yeh thats mature

Here's our problem with the US: attacking people, not issues! This is the most childish thing I have ever read from supposed adults. So if Hillary pro-cancer research, are they going to launch an attack against cancer research??

this blind attacking of people simply based on who they are and not paying attention to or working on the issue is what is running this country into the ground!

Hillary became an irrelevant footnote to political history when she couldn't get a dance at the 2008 Democratic Party prom. She has no accomplishments of any significance in her Secretary of State resume filler. Whenever anything of importance came up, the administration sent "Bumbling Joe Biden" in to mismanage things. The last thing America needs is a reprise of the Clinton political circus even if it stars Hillary as cuckquean in chief. Anything these men can do to prevent that will be of benefit to the nation.

Hmm... Although Her resume looks really good for the job of a president, I don't think America votes that way. America tends to vote for new faces rather then experienced people. Basically I don't think she could win an election, but I think she is a very strong candidate and can be a good president. GOP is so bad, that it's can't really offer anything substantial, don't know why I should listen to anything they say.

    "What difference does it make?"

The most heartless, gutless and corrupt one liner in recent history. The fact that so many libs still support this woman is beyond imagination.

I think all the cocaine trafficking through Arkansas while her husband was Governor is going to hurt her. Barry Seale, the guy who brought the drugs in, was personal friends with both Bill and Hillary. Seale was murdered just before Bill ran for POTUS, case still "unsolved". Hundreds of millions of drug dollars laundered through Clinton sponsored non-profits, not good either.

If anyone thinks the united states will vote in a non male then your are crazy. The last new president is considered the worst president we have ever had. The next one wont be another black person, or a female. It will be the undisputed most qualified candidate. This economy hurts and people will vote in whoever will balance the sheets so it stops hurting.

America will not vote for a rapidly aging grandma who is falling apart faster than a sun-drenched beached beluga. Blank-outs, Benghazi, wrinkles turning in to fissures and bulging proportions disqualify Hilderbeast from the get go.

We know the GOP doesn't want another Clinton in the White House – what will they offer as an alternative? We already know what they have to offer. Someone that will cut taxes on the rich, raise taxes on everyone else (like Snyder in Michigan), allow business to do as it pleases to our environment, and quickly take us back to war for middle east oil. Goodbye GOP – no one believes your lies anymore!!

She isn't even running yet, and the conservatives are frothing at the mouth. To make them look even more childish, they are recycling the contrarian strategy that has worked so well for them against Obama.

I think this says it all. And this strategy worked SO well to make Obama a one-term President.

Hillary needs to get up there and run! Oh, HELL yes! I am a Republican and Hillary running would be a gift. Actually, I think Hillary is fried from her most recent public post and would serve her party better as a supporter rather than a candidate.

Personally, I would like to see Condoleezza Rice step up to plate and run for President. I think she could do the job and do it well.

As an American first, I just want to see someone in the White House that has the people and country's best interest at heart.

Just like when Republicans were FOR the individual mandate for health insurance...until Obama was for it, then they were against it.
