(CNN) – As Newark mayor Cory Booker's star rises on the national scene, conservatives are hoping to disrupt the Democrat's campaign for U.S. Senate.
Newly-created Super PAC American Commitment Action Fund posted an online ad Tuesday going after Booker as an absentee-mayor, using his own words and that of fellow Newark politicians to try and paint the portrait of an ineffectual and divisive leader.
(CNN) - Take a famous name, a state with changing demographics and a GOP-controlled seat that Republicans can't lose next year if they want to reclaim control of the U.S. Senate.
Those ingredients add up to the likelihood of a high-stakes, fiercely contested and expensive race for an open seat in Georgia.
(CNN) - Senate Majority PAC, an independent group that works to keep the Senate in Democrats' hands, launched another attack ad Tuesday against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, highlighting the Kentucky Republican as a "guardian of gridlock."
The ad, also sponsored by Patriot Majority USA, is part of a campaign the two groups kicked off last month called "30 Years Is Too Long," as they seek to oust the senator in next year's election.
(CNN) - While the world's eye was on the royal baby Monday, plenty of other children came into the world, including Mitt Romney's latest grandchild–also a boy. "#22," he notes in his tweet.
In a nod to Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, Romney said his family is also "royally blessed."
Washington (CNN) - The prospect of Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell resigning as he copes with a federal investigation into the nearly $150,000 worth of lavish gifts the Republican and his family received from a wealthy executive is unlikely, people close to the governor insist.
Yet the topic remains a tantalizing conversation piece around Richmond these days, mainly because it would be an act without modern precedent.FULL STORY
New York (CNNMoney) - When shoppers apply for health insurance through the forthcoming state-based Obamacare exchanges, the online system will verify each applicant's information by pulling in data from more than half a dozen federal agencies ranging from the IRS to the Peace Corps. It will know who you are, how much money you make, and whether or not you're in the United States legally.
The prospect of one online system having access to so much personal information is making some watchdogs nervous. In a USA Today op-ed decrying the system as a "privacy nightmare," researchers Stephen Parente and Paul Howard penned these scary words: "This hub will achieve what has, until now, only appeared in pulp thrillers: a central database linking critical state and federal data on every U.S. citizen for real-time access."FULL STORY

Ten people suffered minor injuries Monday when the nose gear of a Southwest Airlines jetliner collapsed after landing at New York's LaGuardia Airport, the city's Port Authority reported. Southwest Flight 345 was landing at LaGuardia from Nashville about 5:40 p.m. when the accident occurred. The nose of the blue-and-orange jet came to rest on the ground after the aircraft came to a stop, and passengers evacuated the aircraft on emergency slides.
