John King: Obama trying to get upper hand in looming showdown

Washington (CNN) – Republicans are right in saying President Barack Obama's new economy road show is a rerun - full of policy proposals and political attacks the country, and the GOP, have heard before.

But there is a new goal in recycling and retooling the Obama economic pitch: a potential government shutdown looms on the horizon and the president is looking to make sure he has the upper hand as that showdown enters crunch time.

This is just a game to the government. We have to live with the mess they make. It should not matter what party they are in but how to get this wonderful country out of the mess we're in. Elections are comming and maybe we need all new leaders. Maybe then congress will understand how to work together for the greater good.

Why don't the GOP try to get the upper hand by finally doing something to fix the economy instead of critizing the President

Obama offers an economic plan. Republicans offer government shutdowns and abortion laws that have no chance of surviving court challenges. Any questions?

Obama is not going to get another debt ceiling increase.........for more runaway spending.

    That is a pipe dream.

    It's okay...,

Let's play a game of how high can he raise our debt.

I wanna see if we can hit 20 trillion before he's out of office.

Under Bill Clinton NAFTA, the repealing of the Glass-Steagall Act, and the rewriting of the community reinvestment act all took place. Which led to the economic hard times we face today. We need to make those wrongs into rights to really begin to move forward. What`s sad is the libs want another Clinton in the WH. Also Unions have gutted this country. Just look at Detroit. At one time unions were a good concept but now they are corrupt and not logical.

Road show re-run retooling recycling old policies. Hmmm I wonder which political leaning you have Mr King.
He is facing an opposition that is repeating its stance of the previous debt crisis... and this time they don't have the no budget excuse so they get three senators to change the normal rules and refuse reconciliation. because if they go that the stance they have has to be approved in the reconciliation committees. Cant have that because that stops us forcing 60 votes ,to get floor debate and heaven forbid they might just pass a budget bill on a simple majority vote.

John King doesn't even hide his GOP colors anymore, way to stay objective John. And to "Dixie", the only ones refusing to work, and the only ones refusing to compromise, is the GOP. Follow your own advice and vote all GOP members out of office. That's the only way the country will ever move forward.
