(CNN) - Retired Col. George "Bud" Day was the "bravest man I ever knew," Sen. John McCain said Sunday of the war hero with whom he shared a cell as a prisoner in North Vietnam.
Day, a highly decorated serviceman who was awarded the Medal of Honor in 1976, died Saturday at age 88 in Florida, according to CNN affiliate WJHG-TV in Panama City.
Washington (CNN) - A major union pushing for immigration reform will launch a new Spanish-language online ad campaign on Monday that highlights comments by Republican Rep. Steve King of Iowa, which were widely condemned as reprehensible because he portrayed many of the children of undocumented immigrants as drug traffickers.
The ad from the Service Employees International Union will run in the districts of seven House Republicans. They use King’s comments from an interview earlier this month with the conservative media outlet Newsmax, where he discussed children of immigrants who want to gain U.S. citizenship if they have graduated high school or served in the military - the so-called “DREAMers.”

(CNN) - Sen. Rand Paul’s criticism of the National Security Agency’s spying programs puts him in the same category as the late George McGovern, the anti-war 1972 Democratic presidential nominee, Rep. Peter King, R-New York, said Sunday.
Echoing remarks last week from New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, King sharply chastised Paul for suggesting admitted NSA leaker Edward Snowden was performing an act of civil disobedience when he revealed the massive snooping programs.
(CNN) - After dozens died in weekend protests in Egypt over the ouster of President Mohamed Morsy, Sen. Dianne Feinstein - the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee - said she’s worried for the first time about the future of the country.
“I think this is a real point of definition of what kind of Egypt is going to come out of this. For the first time, I am very concerned,” Feinstein said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
(CNN) - Anthony Weiner’s proclivity for sending sexually charged online messages is a “pathological problem” that should prevent him from assuming the role of New York City mayor, Rep. Peter King said Sunday.
A Republican representing parts of Long Island, New York, King said on CNN’s “State of the Union” that Weiner was “not psychologically qualified to be mayor of the city of New York.”
(CNN) - Days after Anthony Weiner admitted to lewd chats with women online, his campaign manager quit, Weiner and his campaign said Sunday.
Danny Kedem's departure is the latest sign Weiner's New York City mayoral bid is struggling amid allegations of online sexual impropriety. After the chats and photographs became public Tuesday, a poll showed him dropping to second place among Democratic candidates for mayor and his favorable numbers plummeting.
(CNN) - San Diego’s Democratic mayor, who is embroiled in sexual harassment allegations, should resign, Sen. Dianne Feinstein said Sunday.
Speaking on CNN’s “State of the Union,” the California Democrat said Bob Filner no longer held the moral authority to lead his city.
