Lawmaker: If CNN can interview suspect in Benghazi attack, why can't FBI?

Washington (CNN) – A Republican lawmaker demanded Wednesday to know why investigators have not captured or killed any of the suspects in the attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, pointing out that CNN was able to find a man who some say was the ringleader in the assault that left the ambassador and three other Americans dead.

Eight GOP lawmakers are asking that incoming FBI Director James Comey brief Congress within 30 days about the investigation. They say the administration's inquiry into the September 11, 2011, attacks in Libya has been "simply unacceptable," according to a draft letter obtained by CNN.

If this continued GOP Benghazi dog and pony show doesn't kill the GOP, pushing for a government shutdown will.

I listened to Arwa Damon's report out of curiosity and found no bombshells. The guy she interviewed has absolutely nothing to offer to solve the reason for the attack since he was outside the perimeter and didn't see the attacks. He has been interviewed by several others and they didn't seem to think his information was important or credible or more would have been made out of it. This is an attempt to bolster the Republicans sinking inquiry into the Benghazi "scandal". Chavetz is one of Issa's cohorts. Everyone knows that. Come on CNN. You have made wrong "talking points" and given inaccurate information in ALL of the important stories for the last couple of years. Remember the Supreme Court ruling on healthcare, the Boston bomber story by John King and many of the first reports about the Sandy Hook shootings. You chalked it off by saying first reports are often wrong. Guess it's OK for you guys to make wrong assumptions or statements but not those way off in a remote foreign country. Arwa Damon entered the outpost through a window ( I heard her say that), took a personal journal and instead of giving it to his family or the State Department, she published it. She lost my respect when she kept reporting about it and repeating all of the Republican talking points even though Ambassador Steven's family specifically asked that their son's death not be politicized. She should read Mr. Steven's heartfelt letter that he recently wrote. Why don't you guys have him on one of your shows? Piers Morgan would be a good choice. Mr. Issa's inquiry is sinking fast and he seems desperate now. Guess Hillary Clinton's lunch at the White House spooked them all and they are scared stiff she will run in 2016. If they are so concerned about wrong 'talking points" then perhaps look back into Condaleeza Rice, George Bush, Colin Powel and Dick Cheney's remarks about WMD's in Iraq. Then look at their record of finding Bin Laden. NOT. Then check the horrific numbers of people killed and wounded in that war. No comparison. This whole Benghazi inquiry has become so transparent and shame on those reporters who are beating the dead horse for ratings.

Perhaps the FBI knows, just as the New York Times and many other news outlets who interviewed him found that he was not credible or did not have any important information. Why are you making a story out of nothing? Don't be surprized if the FBI is always looking at this behind the scenes and something will be revealed in the future. Remember how they kept the Bin Laden raid secret. This is just a story to try and prop up the Republican's silly Benghazi conspiracy theory of a cover up. How about an investigation into the guy who made the anti-Islamic video that caused riots, protests, death and destruction in hundreds of cities around the world? That got swept under the carpet. Why?

Regarding Benghazi, I have yet to hear anyone, including CNN, report or ask why Repubs. Issa & Ryan, being the 1st to cry foul against Obama & Clinton were not reported as voting against additional funding for embassy security world wide, long before the attack. I believe their statements were to the effect that "when times are hard, you have to set priorities." I think I recall VP Biden addressing Ryan during the VP debate about this subject with Ryan's response being to look at the floor & say nothing. Wolves in elephant's clothing.

Who says that they are relevant to the investigation? Are these people still available to speak to anyone? I think this is one of those times that this is a partisan attack. I think part of the problem is that no one is willing to blame the ambassador who went to a place that wasn't secure.

The FBI doesn't want to know. Why else couldn't the head if their organization tell investigators how many agents were working on this? Who is incharge? What happened? All sounds pretty fishy.
