Kerry: Same-sex spouses' visas will get equal treatment

(CNN) - Legally married same-sex spouses seeking U.S. visas will now be treated the same as opposite-sex spouses, Secretary of State John Kerry announced Friday.

Kerry told a meeting with consular staff in London that the change means that his department was "tearing down an unjust and an unfair barrier that for too long stood in the way of same-sex families being able to travel as a family to the United States."

    Ok already, give gays every right to enjoy the life of their dreams. Our country is suffering and you mean to tell me in 2013, gay rights is still an issue? Sad sad sad.

    Just another way for the leftist/progressive/socialist/communist Democrats to divide this country and pit one segment against another.

    Yeah, treating everyone the same is so divisive....nothing says "unity" like "oh, it's ok, you can be as bigoted and discriminatory as you'd like, because I wouldn't want you to get all butthurt about it."

    Newsflash: YOU throwing YOUR tantrums over our gov't treating as YOUR equal people YOU don't like or consider subhuman is not our gov't being "divisive." It's YOU being divisive.

    He said nothing incendiary or divisive, just lamented that it's 2013 and we're still fighting over whether to treat people like equals. What's wrong or insulting or inflammatory about that?

    @end the divisiveness,

    You're the one being divisive by carping about a subject that - presumably - has no direct impact on your life.
