Bush is home after heart procedure

(CNN) – Former President George W. Bush is home Wednesday a day after having a stent placed in his heart to alleviate a blockage in an artery, according to his spokesman Freddy Ford.

The procedure was "performed successfully," without complication, at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas Tuesday morning, Bush's office announced in a statement shortly afterwards.

"President Bush is in high spirits, eager to return home tomorrow and resume his normal schedule on Thursday. He is grateful to the skilled medical professionals who have cared for him," the statement read.

Bush on track to leave hospital; Clinton reaches out

The blockage was found during Bush's annual physical examination at the Cooper Clinic in Dallas on Monday.

"He thanks his family, friends, and fellow citizens for their prayers and well wishes. And he encourages us all to get our regular check-ups," the statement continued.

The 43rd president was known for having relatively good health during his tenure at the White House. For exercise, he was an active runner and frequently rode his mountain bike.

Former President Bill Clinton, who has had heart issues in the past, reached out to Bush upon learning that he had the stent procedure. Clinton is traveling in Africa with his daughter Chelsea, and advisers to both presidents said they were working on connecting the two men.

Clinton had two stents placed in his heart in 2010 after images revealed that a bypass graft – part of a quadruple bypass surgery that Clinton underwent in 2004 – was blocked.

Here is a wish for a speedy recovery and a return to whatever activities you enjoy.

Despite political differences, I have no problem offering well wishes to our former Presidents.

It is important that spiritual teachings are taught again to ALL people. It is no surprise that Bush has heart troubles. One cannot lie all one's life and expect to be healthy.

"President Bush is in high spirits, eager to return home tomorrow and resume his normal schedule on Thursday". Meanwhile the tens of thousands of Iraqis and thousands of American servicemen killed in the Iraq war will return to their normal schedule of never returning home.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery and a long life. May you live long enough to see the historians analyze and rate your presidency at the bottom of the list where it belongs.

Are you really going to go there? well apparently so. If you are the Christian you seem to pretend to be, would it not be far more charitable and kind, whatever your differences, to just wish him a speedy recovery. I was certainly no fan of Bush – but I would also wish him a speedy recovery.

You need to read your bible again (and again and again) until you really grasp kindness.

If bad hearts are correlated to lying, then Obama will be dead before he finishes his 2nd term as president of the US!!!

"Mr" Leon Panetta, the so called "secretary of Defense" said on 5/8/2013. "the core mission had been accomplished. to be sure the cost was high, he said. But those lives were NOT LOST in vain. They gave birth to an 'INDEPENDENT, FREE AND SOVEREIGN IRAQ." But I say: tell that to the Fathers and Mothers of those children, women, elderly and the rest in Iraq. And don not forget to tell the same thing for the Mothers, Fathers, and family members of the US soldiers that were killed there and to the families that have US soldiers dying in the streets of this country. Iraq still at war, is not free, not independent, not sovereign. To prove that just put in the news the BIG HOTEL, swimming pool, hardware store and so forth that Washington has in Babilon, Iraq.
