After heart procedure, Bush gets call from Obama

(CNN) – President Barack Obama called his predecessor George W. Bush Wednesday to extend good wishes after the former president underwent a procedure to put a stent in an artery of his heart.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Thursday that Obama was "glad to hear the procedure went well and former President Bush is recovering."

On Wednesday, Bush returned home from the hospital after undergoing the stent procedure Tuesday morning.

Former President Bill Clinton, who has had heart issues in the past, also reached out to Bush.

How refreshing is this? A Democrat reaching out to a Republican with glad tidings.

And on that note, I bid you all a good day.

did obama also thank bush for all of the bush policies he is continuing, even after criticizing them endlessly? did obama apologize to bush for blaming him for everything under the sun, even things the democrats did, like tank the economy with their homes for those that can't afford them program?

i'm sure bush wasn't mean enough to ask obama how shutting down gitmo was going.... or why obama is calling ft. hood 'workplace violence' when the muslim radical that did it is admitting he is a jihadi??

@just asking (or should say.. saying?)
Did Bush apologize for starting TWO unfunded wars that WE are still paying for.. well over $1 TRILLION?
Did Bush apologize for the 6,000 American military personnel deaths as a result of these wars, and the 100's of 1,000's of civilian collateral deaths?
Did Bush apologize for the unfunded tax cuts that cost us over $1 TRILLION?
Did Bush apologize for the unfunded Medicare Part D drug fiasco that cost US over $1 TRILLION?
Did Bush apologize for more than doubling the National Debt in 8 short years?
Did Bush apologize for taking a budget surplus and converting it to a HUGE $1.47 TRILLION deficit in 8 short yrs?
Did Bush apologize for trashing the economy and causing the loss of 4.2 MILLION jobs?
Did Bush apologize for not investigating the deaths of 11 Americans and 50+ civilians that occurred during his Presidency?

When he does, I'll expect Obama to do likewise.

    The REAL Truth... (aka truthless)

democrats voted for them - Did Bush apologize for starting TWO unfunded wars that WE are still paying for.. well over $1 TRILLION?

democrats voted for them - Did Bush apologize for the 6,000 American military personnel deaths as a result of these wars, and the 100's of 1,000's of civilian collateral deaths?

democrats voted for them - Did Bush apologize for the unfunded tax cuts that cost us over $1 TRILLION?
(btw, taxes are revenue and not an expense, cutting them leaves the money with its true owner, the taxpayer. there is no funding or unfunding involved. you speak liberal nonsense not based on the real meaning of words)

democrats voted for them - Did Bush apologize for the unfunded Medicare Part D drug fiasco that cost US over $1 TRILLION?

democrats controlled congress in the last two years, did they cut the spending so no debt was added? no. so democrats supported the spending levels - Did Bush apologize for more than doubling the National Debt in 8 short years?

deficit was only $600 billion in his last year. one time $800 billion tarp spending was made permanent by obama and democrats - Did Bush apologize for taking a budget surplus and converting it to a HUGE $1.47 TRILLION deficit in 8 short yrs?

democrats homes for everybody, no income required trashed the economy - Did Bush apologize for trashing the economy and causing the loss of 4.2 MILLION jobs?

equating war zone attacks with the libya 9/11 attack is a joke, you take everybody for fools? - Did Bush apologize for not investigating the deaths of 11 Americans and 50+ civilians that occurred during his Presidency?

I sincerely hope you are unmarried and without children. Its amazing to watch a person who fits the legal definition of an adult blaming everyone and everything for damages both real and perceived 24×7. I shudder to think the various types of psychological damage and abuse a person who thinks they have the unvarnished truth stright from God's lips could inflict on another human being, especially a child. All he did was wish him well. Lighten up.

Let's not make this political. It was a decent thing to do. Bush would probably have done the same thing. It's the human thing to do. You can criticize Obama or Bush all you want at other times. This is not one of them.

Things that make you say, "Hymm." The right wing always says that Obama's policies are bad for the economy. So if Obama's policies are actually Bush's policies, then why is it that Republicans want to keep following Bush's economic policies?

"@just sayin – sorry, it is the democrats that more closely resemblance traitors as they always support criminals and are generally anti-military. look at obama andhis refusal to enforce the laws of this nation.
    ----------
Instead of the usual rant, supporting examples would be nice to have, eh? Exactly which laws are you saying Obama has refused to enforce? Oh, the ones Congress required the IRS to enforce, then the GOP whined about it when they did?"
    ===

Now now, you know he can't answer that because what he really wants to say is "the law that says this is a white people country that is supposed to be controlled by white people, and that we have to stop brown people from coming here and becoming citizens if it means we're going to lose that hegemony."

-The unfunded tax cuts cost 6 trillion, and we're still counting.
-Medicare Part D has cost a trillion, and still counting.
-National debt? Bush increased annual spending 7-9% from the previous year, every year that he was in office.
-And, yes, he actually did apologize for erasing the surplus. He did so when the first round of tax cuts were passed.
-Actually, we lost 8 million manufacturing jobs alone.
-Oops, I almost forgot. "Pres. Bush kept us safe."

I really wish I could reach President Obama. I would like to tell him to do a PSA on breathing and how good it is to be able to do it.

Several hours later turn on the news and find out that the GOP has spoken out against it and have held their breath until they dropped.

If you really are a politcially savvy black man, who also claims to be from Brooklyn, then you should already know that Eliot Spitzer has always been a champion of civil rights.

I don't just CLAIM to be from Brooklyn, I AM from Brooklymn and what does that have to do with anything? I did not question Spitzer's support of Civil Rights. The Kennedy's supported Civil Rights but what black man did they select as a running mate?

You said blacks will remember him for selecting a black running mate. I said that is not enough to vote for somebody. Funny how YOU failed to bring up his Civil Rights record until just now. Kinda hard for me to respond to something that was not brought up.

I expect Spitzer to get the lion's share of the minority vote. They remember him choosing David Paterson as a running mate.

I am not a Bush fan at all, in fact I couldn't wait for him to leave office. But, it amazes me on how news stories articulating that a past Republican President experienced a potentially life threatening medical condition, and the current and past Democrat Presidents kindly call Dubya to wish him all the best, can draw such ridiculous & non-sensical political commentary. Hey political drones on both sides of the poltiical spectrum, sometimes you all have to let it go and just have a "human moment", and if you cannot handle that, then pretend!! Lord, this society is becoming more and more disgraceful by the day!

You wanted to know what does Spitzer stand for. What are his policies? Civil rights. Anyone from NYC would know Spitzer's reputation. I will give you benefit of the doubt and assume that you left Brooklyn as very young child, and was later raised in a different place, far, far away from NYC.
