Ron Paul says TV venture contributes to the 'cause of liberty'

(CNN) – Ron Paul's post-Congress, post-presidential campaign venture will provide conservatives another avenue for reaching voters, the former Texas lawmaker says in a behind-the-scenes look at his new TV setup.

Ron Paul TV launches Monday, and subscribers who pay $9.95 a month will gain access to broadcasts and interviews from the three-time presidential candidate.

"In this day and age of spreading information, it's not getting on one of the major networks, it's not getting into the Washington Post or the Boston Globe anymore. It's alternate media, it's the Internet, it's handheld devices," Paul says in the clip.

Walking through his set, Paul points out a Texas flag and a large copy of the U.S. Constitution, which he jokes that he mentions "a few times in my speeches."

"I hope we really contribute something beneficial to the cause of liberty," he says of his new channel.

"The equipment is here, it's up to me to do a good job," he continues. "The one thing that I'm firmly convinced of is we are correct on the philosophy, we just need messengers. I'd like to be that messenger. I keep working at it and keep improving myself because there's no reason we shouldn't win."

CNN's Todd Sperry contributed to this report.

If "liberty" means his pocket and his bank account, sure, its contributing. Interesting how Paul arrogantly takes on the role of messenger and deciding for himself exactly what is the proper definition of liberty and freedom. I would love to see what messengers he would deem to be the correct ones to deliver his latest revelations from the Almighty.

Ah, liberty for only $9.95 a month. What a deal! Crazy conservatives seem to be an endless money-making opportunity.

One must always appreciate the GOP and their "cause for liberty" coming from the party that seeks to curtail civil rights, voting rights, and who pass un-Constitutional Abortion laws using motorcycle saftey bills and midnight budget votes.

Ron Paul should have put more focus on defining the Libertarian Party as a separate party – not just some extension of the GOP.

It is very sad when a so-called seeker of liberty (a la Ron Paul) seeks liberty for only a select few. That is not a good way to win people to one's cause.

Help them Jesus. Now he is charging $9.95 to get his perspective on Liberty and Freedom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tell you the GOP/TP/Libertarian party is really off of their rails. Who in the world are leading these people? They definitely need a new leader or at least someone who has good sense. Go ahead severly conservatives, pay to keep him rich just like you did Sarah Palin. She is coming back for more of those dollars soon at a fox news station near you.

well the far left democrats think they can force their definition of liberty and freedom on the rest of the country as they use the government to force you to buy a product or penalize you in the form of a 'tax'. the far left democrtas think they can tax and regulate everybody and every business into submission. tax more and more money from those that produce to give to those that live off the working and tax paying citizens. yes, karl marx and vladimir lenin are the true spokepeople for the democrat party.

Democrat Rep Keith Ellison is the spokeperson for the socialist Democrat party: Just look at what he says, which is what the Democrat Part is truly all about.

Minnesota’s socialist Rep. Keith Ellison really let the mask slip big time the other day. From the CNS report:

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) told a gathering of Democrats, “The bottom line is we’re not broke, there’s plenty of money, it’s just the government doesn’t have it.” (Emphasis added.)

    I can’t top Walter Hudson’s observation:

We can induce from Ellison’s comments that he believes the government cannot go broke so long as money remains in the private sector to be taken. In other words, your money does not belong to you. The state allows you to keep what you have and reserves the right to seize it for redistribution.

I'll pay attention to Paul's TV venture if he airs one of those Hilary specials that has Reince Priebus' knicker is a knot.

Now THAT would be a demonstration of true liberty.

"The state allows you to keep what you have and reserves the right to seize it for redistribution."

Don't like it? Live somewhere that their Constitution doesn't contain the power to tax. All that statement is, is a cynical and selfish way of characterizing the power to tax. Taxation IS a redistribution system. Period. And the manner in which we've set it up over the past several decades has redistributed all the wealth upwards. THAT is a problem for the economy AND for the ability of he vast majority of individuals in the country to enjoy the freedoms and liberty our government was intended to provide, let alone "live the American dream." Apparently, the only "American dream" some people find acceptable anymore is "get rich quick somehow, then step on everyone else and buy up politicians to protect yourself from having to contribute to the overall well-being of our society."

Is he putting this together with his old buddies at their new Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity?

Lew Rockwell – identified as the guy responsible for the racist and homophobic campaign literature full of conspiracy mumbo-jumbo for Ron Paul in the 80's and 90's

John Laughland – Made defending Slobodan Milosevic from charges of ethnic cleansing a personal crusade

Walter Block – recently argued on Rowckwell's website that the country would have been better off if the Confederacy has successfully separated from the country and beat the "monster Lincoln"

These are who he is "palling around with." .....judged by the company we keep.....

Attention conservative audience. These so-called "conservative political activists" are not conservatives. They are simply profiteers who try to profit off of you ignorance and fear of people who don't look like you or live in your neighborhoods.

Why is it everytime society no longer takes your conservative activists seriously, they run off to try to make a quick buck now that they have an audience who is willing to join their cult-like philosophies without any base on reality? Try reading a little from data or historical records, hang around those people they tell you to fear all of your life, listen to different perspectives that teach hope and tolerance for a change in your enlightenment, and get out of your bubble of fear and hate.
The world is not as scary as your profiteering talk radio hosts make it out to be.

THE WORLD IS NOT FLAT ANYMORE!
