San Diego mayor rejects recall drive over sexual harassment claims

San Diego (CNN) – New parks. High-tech jobs. Better roads and a bid for the 2024 Olympics.

Embattled San Diego Mayor Bob Filner says voters should weigh all those issues against the mounting allegations that he groped and harassed women before they decide whether they want to run him out of office.

Assembywoman Soldana is starting to bring the heat on our local politicos, Left and Right, in this town. She brought a complaint about Filner 2 years ago on behalf of 5 women: nothing happened. So she's now correctly accusing some politicians of keeping a "boys club" silence about Filner ... except they're not all boys. Councilwoman Donna Frye knows Filner well enough to know his proclivities, and she has inadvertently admitted as much. And she was on the hustings supporting him for Mayor last year.

Isn't covering up almost as bad as the crime itself, in the eyes of the law? DeMaio also clearly knew something, but for some unaccountable reason didn't make a public accusation about an opponent.

Have the decency to step down for crying out loud. You give the dems a bad name .most will at least step down and then run another campaign and let the people decide

The whole scenario is laughable! Ego maniac,, power abusive...idiot takes office. As long as he served certain people's interests others looked away.
